The Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers meet Sunday in NFL action from Lambeau Field. Detroit is 8-8 so far after a blowout win over the Bears last weekend. Detroit started out the year at just 1-6 with a lone win over the Commanders. Since then Detroit is 7-2 with wins over the Packers, Bears, Giants, Jaguars, Vikings, Jets and Bears alongside losses to the Bills and Panthers.
In the Bears game on Sunday, the Lions were up 24-10 by halftime. Detroit scored another 17 points from there during a 41-10 blowout win. Jared Goff put up 255 yards with three scores, and Jamaal Williams had 144 yards with one TD off 22 carries.
Over on the Green Bay side, they were just 3-6 after their first nine outings, beating only the Patriots, Bucs and Bears. The Packers are currently riding a four-game win streak over the Bears, Rams, Dolphins and Vikings.
Matched up against the Vikings on Sunday, the Packers took a 27-3 edge into the break. Green Bay cruised from there and won it 41-17. Aaron Rodgers finished with 159 yards and a score, while Aaron Jones led the rush on 14 carries for 111 yards.
The Lions are 8-1 ATS in their last nine overall and 7-1 ATS in the last eight after a straight-up win. Detroit is 5-1 ATS in their last six versus the NFC.
Meanwhile, the Packers are 4-0 ATS in their last four overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the NFC. Green Bay is 13-6 ATS in the last 19 after an ATS win.
PICK: I might take a stab on the Lions here. Regardless, it should be a good matchup as both teams still have playoff aspirations—and both need help from Seattle. During their first meeting back on November 6, Detroit powered out a 15-9 victory thanks to three Aaron Rodgers interceptions. Both teams have been scoring better lately however, so I like this one to be a higher total. Green Bay has scored 24 or more points in five straight games and will be tough at home. That said, the Lions have hit 20 or more points in eight straight games themselves. I like Detroit to power out a cover in a close matchup. Should be a fun one.
