The Green Bay Packers and New York Giants do battle Sunday in a week 5 NFC NFL game from Northumberland Development Project in London. New York is fresh off an eight-point victory over the Bears. As for Green Bay, they played the Patriots over the weekend and eked out an overtime win. Check back all season long for free NFL picks at Sports Chat Place.

New York kicked off their year with a one-point victory over the Titans, then managed a tense three-point victory 19-16 over the Panthers in game two. The Giants would take their first loss at the hands of the rival Cowboys, 23-16 in game three.

Last weekend versus the Bears, the Giants put up points in every quarter on the way to a 20-12 victory. QB Daniel Jones finished with 71 yards on 8-of-13 passing and two ground scores, but Saquon Barkley did most of the rush work with 146 yards on 31 carries.

Over on the Packers’ side, their season started out on a low note September 11 with a 23-7 loss to the Vikings. Green Bay got their first win of the year the next week 27-10 versus the Bears, then kept it going with a close 14-12 win over the Buccaneers.

In their fourth game of the year the Packers went punch-for-punch into overtime with the Patriots. Green Bay emerged victorious 27-24. QB Aaron Rodgers finished with 251 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Allen Lazard caught six balls for 116 yards.

The Giants are 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 on turf and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 in October. New York is 2-5 ATS in their last seven versus the NFC.

Meanwhile, the Packers are 7-2 ATS versus a team with a winning record and 6-2 ATS in their last eight on turf. Green Bay is 11-4 ATS in their last 15 versus the NFC.

PICK: I’m probably staying with Green Bay. Probably not touching it, though. The Packers have only had the one sizable victory over the Bears so far this year; their last two games have been decided by just five combined points. Green Bay put up a solid effort against a plucky Patriots team with 443 total yards and 24 first downs, but the Packers also had two turnovers and went a sketchy 6-of-14 on third-down tries.

As for the Giants, they’re something of a surprise in the early-going. New York did basically nothing through the air versus the Bears (71 pass yards) and needed 262 yards on the ground to get the victory. If Green Bay plays well I think they’re the better cover option.
