The Miami Dolphins and the Jacksonville Jaguars meet Saturday in NFL preseason action from TIAA Bank Field. The Dolphins have two preseason games in the bank so far, with a loss to the Falcons and a win over the Texans. Miami Dolphins 

The Dolphins kicked off their preseason schedule with a matchup versus the Falcons. Miami didn’t end up scoring until the fourth quarter in a pretty rough 19-3 defeat. QB Skylar Thompson threw two interceptions with 104 yards, and Myles Gaskin was the top rusher on 57 yards from seven carries. 

Game two against the Texans went much better for the Dolphins. Miami jumped out to a 21-3 halftime lead and eventually cruised to the win 28-3. Thompson was much better this time on 157 yards and three scores. Braxton Berrios led the receivers with 33 yards and a TD, and Salvon Ahmed rushed for 99 yards on 12 carries. 

Jacksonville Jaguars 

Over on the Jaguars’ side, they’ve played pretty well so far this preseason. Jacksonville started things out with a 28-23 win over the Cowboys in the opener, posting 14 fourth-quarter points. Nathan Rourke tossed for 153 yards and a touchdown, and Cartavious Bigsby had 52 rush yards. Elijah Cooks had 42 yards from two receptions. 

In game two, Jacksonville kept it rolling against the Lions. The Jaguars scored in every quarter during a pretty solid all-around 25-7 win. CJ Beathard was the lead passer on 138 yards, a TD and a pick. Bigsby led the rush again with 70 yards, and Cooks had two catches for 69 yards to top the receiving corps. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’m likely going to stick with the Jaguars in this one. Jacksonville has put together a couple of pretty solid overall preseason performances so far, and I like them to keep it going. In the Lions matchup, the Jaguars out-gained Detroit 399-131, posting 145 rush yards, 22 first downs, 37:32 in time of possession and just one turnover. Miami is coming off a pretty nice performance themselves though, with 398 total yards (205 rushing) and 23 first downs in their win over the Texans. I like this one to be close most of the way, with the Jaguars eking out a cover in the end. Should be a fun game to watch.
