The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Jacksonville Jaguars meet in week 1 NFL Preseason action from EverBank Stadium on Saturday. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Jaguars vs Steelers Prediction.

Pittsburgh Steelers Team Preview

The Pittsburgh Steelers come into the 2025 campaign after a 10-7 season in 2024 that earned a wild-card berth but ended with a 28-14 playoff loss at the hands of Baltimore. In a dramatic offseason, Pittsburgh parted with both of its quarterbacks from 2024 – Russell Wilson, who signed with the New York Giants, and Justin Fields, who joined the New York Jets. It brought in 41-year-old four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers on a one-year deal. Leading rusher Najee Harris also departed, joining the Chargers, leaving an opportunity for Jaylen Warren and rookie third-round pick Kaleb Johnson to carry the ground game. The Steelers overhauled their receiving corps, trading away wideout George Pickens to Dallas but acquiring Pro Bowl receiver D.K. Metcalf from Seattle as a new number-one target. They also added veteran receiver Robert Woods along with tight end Jonnu Smith via trade from Miami.

Up front, the offensive line returns intact, anchored by All-Pro guard Isaac Seumalo and newly extended left tackle Dan Moore Jr. Defensively, Pittsburgh made a blockbuster move by sending All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick to Miami. In exchange for star cornerback Jalen Ramsey. It also signed former Eagles standout Darius Slay to bolster the secondary. The front seven remains a strength, spearheaded by elite pass rusher T.J. Watt and veteran lineman Cameron Heyward, with linebacker Patrick Queen coming off a Pro Bowl season. First-round draft pick Derrick Harmon adds youth to the defense as Pittsburgh aims to finally break its postseason victory drought under long-time coach Mike Tomlin, now in his 19th season.

Jacksonville Jaguars Team Preview

After a brutal 4-13 season in 2024 snapped a two-year playoff streak, the Jacksonville Jaguars enter 2025 with a new regime and retooled roster. Former Rams assistant Liam Coen takes over as head coach, and new GM James Gladstone has orchestrated major offseason moves. The team traded away top receiver Christian Kirk and veteran left tackle Cam Robinson, and released tight end Evan Engram. To help Trevor Lawrence bounce back after missing seven games with injuries last year, the Jaguars added receiver Dyami Brown to a receiving corps now led by emerging second-year wideout Brian Thomas Jr. and veteran Gabe Davis. Running back Travis Etienne Jr. continues to spearhead the backfield.

They also fortified the offensive line by signing guard Patrick Mekari and center Robert Hainsey to join tackles Walker Little and Anton Harrison, while second-year tight end Brenton Strange replaces Engram as the starter. On defense, new coordinator Anthony Campanile will lean on edge rushers Josh Allen and Travon Walker and tackling machine Foyesade Oluokun. Jacksonville solidified the defensive front with former 49ers standout Arik Armstead and addressed a secondary that ranked last in pass defense by signing cornerback Jourdan Lewis and safety Eric Murray to complement standout corner Tyson Campbell. The Jaguars also drafted two-way phenom Travis Hunter with the No. 2 overall pick, planning to use him at wide receiver and cornerback. With all these changes, Jacksonville aims to contend for the AFC South title again in 2025.

Jaguars vs Steelers Prediction

I’m on the Steelers here. Mike Tomlin has always been a coach that’s kept up the intensity whether it’s a regular season or preseason and always treats these games with just as much respect and weight. The Jags are still learning a new system and in the end, I think the Steelers have the better depth pieces here. Give me the Steelers.
