Los Angeles posted a 3-0 start to the year before falling to Arizona on October 3. The Rams bounced back with four more consecutive wins, then fell in three straight to the Titans, 49ers and Packers. Last Sunday was a blowout win over the Jaguars.
Los Angeles got off to a good start against the Jaguars and ultimately scored in every quarter during a 37-7 victory. QB Matthew Stafford finished with 295 yards and three scores, while Sony Michel led the rush on 121 yards and a TD on 24 carries.
Over on the Arizona side, they got off to a great start this season at 7-0. The Cardinals’ first loss was October 28 to the Packers. Since then it’s been a 3-1 run for Arizona with victories over the 49ers, Seahawks and Bears.
In the Bears game last weekend, the Cardinals also scored in every quarter. Arizona had a 21-7 halftime lead that turned into a 33-22 victory. Kyler Murray threw for 123 yards and two TDs (rushing for two more) and James Conner had 75 yards on 20 carries (and a receiving score).
The Rams are 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 in December and 25-12-1 ATS in their last 38 versus the NFC. LA is 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games and 1-5 in their last six overall.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals are 4-0 ATS in their last four versus the NFC West and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 overall. Arizona is 5-2 ATS in their last seven versus the NFC.
PICK: I’m probably going to stick with Arizona. The last time these teams played at SoFi Stadium back on October 3, Arizona ended up with a 37-20 win. The Cardinals posted 465 yards of offense with 27 first downs, 8-of-13 on third-down tries and zero turnovers. Arizona has been scoring pretty well lately with 21 or more points in six of their last seven.
As for LA, they’ve hit 28 or more points in consecutive games and I like this one to be a fairly high-scoring affair as well. Should be a fun and competitive matchup but I think the Cardinals can pull off the cover.
