The Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos do battle in week 6 Monday Night Football NFL action from SoFi Stadium. Denver enters this one at 2-3 so far. The Broncos are coming off an overtime loss to the Colts. As for the Chargers, they’re sitting at 3-2. LA took out Cleveland in their last game. Denver began their season with a tough 17-16 loss to Seattle. The Broncos were able to bounce back in the next pair with wins over the Texans 16-9 and the 49ers 11-10. Game four was another loss however, this time 32-23 versus the Raiders.

The Broncos fell below .500 again with a loss to the Colts back on Thursday. Denver lost 12-9 in a game that featured seven combined field goals. QB Russell Wilson put up 274 yards with two picks, and Courland Sutton caught five balls for 74 yards.

Over on the Chargers’ side, they were able to start off 2022 with a 24-19 win over the Raiders. Los Angeles lost the next two games however, 27-24 versus the Chiefs and 38-10 against the Jaguars. The Chargers stopped the bleeding with a 34-24 win over the Texans.

In game five versus the Browns, the Chargers were down 21-17 at the break. Los Angeles scored 13 points in the second half for a 30-28 comeback win, however. QB Justin Herbert had 228 yards and a TD, while Austin Ekeler had 173 yards and a score on 16 carries.

The Broncos are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 on turf and 1-4 ATS in the last five overall. Denver is 1-4 ATS in their last five versus the AFC West.

Meanwhile, the Chargers are 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and 8-2-1 ATS in the last 11 in October. Los Angeles is 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the AFC.

PICK: I’m probably going to stick with the Chargers. Los Angeles didn’t start out terribly well against the Browns over the weekend, but to the team’s credit they came back and got the win with a solid second half. The Chargers posted 465 total yards (238 rushing) with 26 first downs, but went a tepid 3-of-10 on third-down tries.

As for Denver, they out-gained the Colts 375-306 in their field-goal-heavy loss over the weekend. The Broncos were an ugly 2-of-15 on third downs and had a couple of interceptions along the way to a missed opportunity. Denver has been at 16 points or fewer in four of five games this season, so it’s tough to trust the team for anything right now.
