The New England Patriots and Dallas Cowboys meet in a key week 6 NFL contest from Gillette Stadium in Foxboro on Sunday afternoon.
The Dallas Cowboys will look to add to their 4-1 mark on the year after a 44-20 beating of the rival New York Giants in their last game. Dak Prescott’s thrown for 1,368 yards, 13 touchdowns and 3 interceptions on 73.9% passing while Ezekiel Elliott has 452 rushing yards and 5 scores. Tony Pollard has 325 rushing yards while CeeDeee Lamb and Amari Cooper each have 300+ receiving yards on the year. Dalton Schultz has 280 receiving yards and Cedrick Wilson’s added 126 yards through the air this season. On defense, Jayron Kearse has a team-high 34 total tackles while Micah Parsons leads Dallas with 2.5 sacks on the year.
The New England Patriots will look to get back to .500 after narrowly escaping with a 25-22 win over the Houston Texans in their last game. Mac Jones has thrown for 1,243 yards, 5 touchdowns and 5 interceptions on 71.1% passing while Damien Harris leads the Pats with 230 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns. Jakobi Meyers leads the Pats in receiving with 31 catches for 302 yards while Hunter Henry and Kendrick Bourne each have 200+ receiving yards and Nelson Agholor and Jonnu Smith each have 100+ receiving yards this season. On defense, Kyle Duggar leads the Patriots with 31 total tackles while Matt Judon has a team-high 6.5 sacks on the year.
Dallas is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a favorite while the over is 6-1 in their last 7 games following a win. New England is 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games as a home underdog and 2-10-1 ATS in their last 13 games following a win while the under is 6-0 in their last 6 games as an underdog.
Man, there’s some kind of allure with the Patriots getting points at home and the Cowboys are such a public team that the idea of going the other way is a sharp bettor’s dream. However, as a Patriots fan, I can tell you, there’s something not right with this team and maybe it’s just that Mac Jones isn’t established in the NFL yet, or maybe he’s getting used to the NFL speed and just hasn’t fully caught up to it yet, but the Patriots should’ve busted up the Texans and you could argue that they should’ve lost that game. Sure, the Cowboys have caught some breaks on the way to their 4-1 SU and 5-0 ATS record, but they don’t ask how you got there, but just if you got there and the Cowboys sure have. I don’t know why this line isn’t closer to a touchdown. I hate saying this, but give me Dallas and lay the points.
