The New York Giants and Los Angeles Rams meet Sunday in week 6 NFL action from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. The Rams are fresh off a nine-point win over the Seahawks last weekend. As for the Giants, they fell in a blowout to the division rival Cowboys in their last appearance. Check back all season long for free NFL picks at Sports Chat Place.
Los Angeles kicked off their season with wins over the Bears 34-14, the Colts 27-24 and the Buccaneers 34-24. The Rams then lost to the Cardinals 37-20 in their fourth game, but bounced back last Thursday for a 26-17 win over the Seahawks.
In the win over Seattle, the Rams scored 23 of their 26 points in the second half. Quarterback Matthew Stafford put up 365 yards with one TD and a pick. Darrell Henderson led the rush with 82 yards and a score from 17 carries, and Robert Woods had 12 catches for 150 yards.
Over on the Giants’ side, they lost their first three games of the year, falling 27-13 to the Broncos, 40-29 to the Team and 17-14 to the Falcons. New York got a 27-21 win over the Saints before falling to the Cowboys 44-20 last weekend.
In the big loss to Dallas, New York coughed up 27 second-half points after trailing by just one at halftime. QB Mike Glennon had 196 yards with a TD and two INTs, while Devontae Booker led the rush with 42 yards and a score. Kadarius Toney caught 10 balls for 189 yards.
The Rams are 24-9-1 ATS in their last 34 versus the NFC and 5-2 ATS in their last seven on turf. Los Angeles is 1-5 ATS in their last six in Week 6 as well.
Meanwhile, the Giants are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 versus the NFC and 5-2 ATS in their last seven in October. New York is 6-19-1 ATS in their last 26 home games.
PICK: I’m going to take a stab on the Giants due to the double-digit line, but probably staying away. New York kept things close in the first half versus Dallas, but imploded in the second half and eventually allowed 515 yards with 26 first downs to the Cowboys. The Giants had 367 yards with 20 first downs on the other side.
As for the Rams, there’s not much to complain about offensively from last week’s win, unless you count the tepid 2-of-10 mark on third downs. New York is going to have to put the clamps down on defense to slow the LA offensive onslaught here, but I think the Giants have a decent shot at getting in on the cover.
