The New York Jets and Buffalo Bills do battle Sunday in week 9 NFL action from MetLife Stadium. Buffalo is coming off a 10-point win over the Packers to move to 6-1 on the season. As for New York, they’re 5-3 after a loss to the Patriots over the weekend. Check back all season long for free NFL picks at Sports Chat Place.

Buffalo started out the 2022 campaign with two victories over the Rams and Titans. The Bills took their lone loss in game three to the Dolphins, then beat the Ravens, Steelers, Chiefs and Packers in the next four outings.

In the Packers game last weekend, the Bills got off to a 24-7 lead by halftime. Buffalo was outpaced 10-3 in the second half but still got the win 27-17. QB Josh Allen put up 218 yards with two scores and two picks. Stefon Diggs caught six balls for 108 yards and a score.

Over on the Jets’ side, they went 1-2 over their first three games with losses to the Ravens and Bengals around a win versus the Browns. New York beat the Steelers, Dolphins, Packers and Broncos in the next four before a loss to the Patriots back on Sunday.

In the New England matchup, New York held a 10-6 edge at the break. After halftime the Jets were outscored 16-7 and lost 22-17. QB Zach Wilson put up 355 yards with two scores and three interceptions. Michael Carter led the rush with just 26 yards on seven carries.

The Bills are 7-1-2 ATS in their last 10 after an ATS loss and 12-3-2 ATS in their last 17 on turf. Buffalo is 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 versus the AFC East

Meanwhile, the Jets are 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss. New York is 4-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record.

PICK: I’m sticking with the Bills here. Probably not touching it, though. Buffalo didn’t have a great second half versus Green Bay, but still came up with 369 total yards, 6.8 yards per play and 20 first downs. The Bills went just 2-of-7 on third-down tries and had a couple of interceptions, but they’ve scored 23 or more points in every game during this win streak.

As for New York, they had a bad second half in their loss to the Patriots as well. The Jets didn’t run the ball well (51 yards) and they were bad on third downs at 5-of-14. New York is going to have to pass the ball quite a bit in order to keep up here, and they’re simply not equipped to do that.
