The Chicago Bears and the New York Jets meet Sunday in NFL action from MetLife Stadium. Chicago is 3-7 this year and fresh off a close loss to the Falcons. As for New York, they’re 6-4 on the season following a loss to the Patriots in their last game. Check back all season long for free NFL picks at Sports Chat Place.

Chicago started out the year on a 2-1 run with wins over the 49ers and Texans. The Bears have won just one game since then (against the Patriots) among losses to the Giants, Vikings, Commanders, Cowboys, Dolphins, Lions and Falcons.

In the Falcons game back on Sunday, the Bears kept the pace with a 17-17 tie going into halftime. Chicago was outscored 10-7 from there and lost 27-24. QB Justin Fields put up 153 yards with a TD and a pick, also leading the rushing with 85 yards and another score.

Over on the Jets’ side, they started out the year at 1-2 with losses to the Ravens and Bengals. New York won four versus the Steelers, Dolphins, Packers and Broncos before a loss to the Patriots. The Jets bounced back with a 20-17 win over the Bills.

New York’s struggles with the Patriots continued on Sunday in a close game. The Jets had things locked at 3-3 for most of the afternoon, then lost the game on a late punt return TD. QB Zach Wilson threw for just 77 yards in the loss and led the rush with 26 yards.

Chicago is 4-1-1 ATS in their last six after an ATS loss and 7-15-1 ATS in the last 23 overall. The Bears are 2-5 ATS in the last seven road games.
Meanwhile, the Jets are 4-0 ATS in their last four after an ATS loss and 5-1 ATS in their last six after a straight-up loss. New York is 2-5 ATS in their last seven in November.

PICK: I’m staying with Chicago. The Bears did some good things on offense in the loss to the Falcons despite a tepid 288-yard total. Chicago had 20 first downs and went 9-of-16 on third-down conversions. Fields really needs some more targets besides David Montgomery, though.

As for the Jets, their offense was absolutely anemic in the Patriots loss with 103 total yards (59 rushing), six first downs and 3-of-14 on third-down tries. Sure, it was a defense-oriented game the whole way but those numbers are just ugly. If Chicago can contain the New York run game, they’ll be set.
