The New York Jets and New England Patriots clash Sunday in a week 8 AFC East NFL showdown from MetLife Stadium.

The New England Patriots will be looking to rebound from a 33-14 loss to Chicago at home on Monday night, falling to 3-4 on the year as a result. Mac Jones has thrown for 786 yards, 2 touchdowns and 5 interceptions on 66% passing, while Bailey Zappe has thrown for 596 yards, 4 touchdowns and an interception on 72.9% passing in relief. Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson have combined for 705 rushing yards and 6 TDs while Jakobi Meyers has a team-high 321 receiving yards and two other Patriot receivers have 200+ receiving yards this season. On defense, Ja’Whaun Bentley has a team-high 32 total tackles while Matthew Judon has a team-high 6 sacks and Deatrich Wise Jr. has 5 sacks as well this season.

The New York Jets will hope to build on their current four-game win streak after a 16-9 win over Denver last time out. Zach Wilson’s thrown for 693 yards, a touchdown and 2 interceptions on 57.4% passing while Breece Hall leads the Jets with 391 rushing yards and 3 rushing TDs but Hall will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. Michael Carter has 228 rushing yards and a pair of rushing scores this season. Corey Davis leads the Jets with 351 receiving yards along with a pair of touchdowns while Garrett Wilson has a team-high 28 grabs for 314 receiving yards and a pair of scores as well. Three more Jets receivers have 200+ receiving yards as well this season. On defense, C.J. Mosley has a team-high 70 total tackles including a team-high 40 solo tackles. Quinnen Williams has a team-high 5 sacks while Lamarcus Joyner has 3 INTs as well this season.

New England is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 division games and 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games following a double-digit home loss while the over is 7-1 in their last 8 games in October. New York is 7-19 ATS in their last 26 division games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 6-2 in their last 8 games in October.

There’s something appearing wrong with the Patriots and I’m not sure what it is specifically, but starting a pair of inexperienced QBs like Jones in his second year and Zappe in his rookie year, as talented are they are, is still going to result in some growing pains. Wilson’s already gone through those pains last year, and the Jets’ coaching staff has done a good job putting him in a position to succeed and I just like the direction the Jets are headed. The wrong team is favored here. Give me the Jets.
