The New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles clash Sunday afternoon in week 13 NFL action from MetLife Stadium. Philadelphia is 2-1 in their last three games and fresh off a six-point loss to the Giants. As for the Jets, they notched their third win of the year against the Texans this past weekend. Philly started out the year on a 2-5 clip over their first seven, recording wins over the Falcons and Panthers. Since then the Eagles are 3-2, beating the Lions, Broncos and Saints while otherwise falling to the Chargers and Giants.
In the loss to the Giants last weekend, Philadelphia couldn’t find the scoreboard until the fourth quarter in a 13-7 result. QB Jalen Hurts put up 129 yards and three picks while also leading the rush with 77 yards. Kenneth Gainwell caught three balls for 32 yards to top the receivers.
Over on the Jets’ side, they’ve had a rough year as well. New York started out at just 1-5 with a lone win over the Titans in OT. After beating the Bengals, the Jets lost to the Colts, Bills and Dolphins before a victory against the Texans over the weekend.
In the Texans matchup, New York outscored Houston 10-0 in the second half during a 21-14 win. QB Zach Wilson had 145 pass yards, an INT and a rush score. Braxton Berrios topped the receivers with two catches for 47 yards.
The Eagles are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road games and 9-4 ATS in the last 13 after an ATS loss. Philly is 2-5 ATS in their last seven as a road favorite and 1-4 ATS in their last five in Week 13.
Meanwhile, the Jets are 5-1 ATS in their last six in December and 5-2 ATS in their last seven in Week 13. New York is 3-9 ATS in their last 11 games overall.
PICK: I’m going to take a stab on the Eagles. New York’s offense has been an inconsistent mess for much of the year, and they’ve had 21 or fewer points in each of the last three games. The Jets have been staying in games with defense, but the better-scoring teams haven’t had many issues getting past it eventually.
Philadelphia has had trouble scoring here and there this season, but overall they haven’t been terrible at putting up points. The Eagles have hit 21 or more points in nine of their last 10 games. A few good drives here could be all they need to bag a cover.
