The Miami Dolphins and the New York Jets meet Sunday in NFL action from MetLife Stadium. Here’s a Jets vs Dolphins prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Jets vs Dolphins pick.
Miami Dolphins Betting Preview
The Dolphins’ year didn’t start out very well, but to be fair they’ve been better lately. Miami went just 1-6 over their first seven games though, with a win over the Jets mixed among losses otherwise versus the Colts, Patriots, Bills, Panthers, Chargers and Browns. A 3-1 run came in the next four outings with a lone loss to the Ravens among wins over the Falcons, Bills and Commanders. That would put Miami at 4-7 across their first 11 games this year.
In the Sunday matchup versus the Saints, the Dolphins were up 16-0 by the end of the first half. Miami had to hang on in the second, but eventually powered out the win 21-17 in the end. QB Tua Tagovailoa finished 12-of-23 for 157 yards and a pick while De’Von Achane carried 22 times for 134 yards and a score. Darren Waller added two catches for 47 yards as the Dolphins’ leading receiver in the winning effort.
New York Jets Betting Preview
Over on the Jets’ side, they dropped their first seven games this year. In succession, New York fell versus the Steelers, Bills, Buccaneers, Dolphins, Cowboys, Broncos and Panthers in that time. The Jets would win consecutive games over the Bengals and Browns, then took losses to the Patriots and Ravens in the next pair. New York limped out of their first 11 games with a 2-9 record overall.
Matched up against the Falcons last weekend, New York was trailing 17-14 going into the fourth quarter. The Jets put up a 13-7 run from there and won the game 27-24 in the end. QB Tyrod Taylor finished with a 19-of-33 line for 172 yards and a touchdown while also posting a rush TD. Breece Hall carried 19 times for 68 yards and a score while Adonai Mitchell caught eight balls for 102 yards and a touchdown in the winning effort for the Jets.

Jets vs Dolphins Prediction
I’ll stick with Miami. The Dolphins posted a relatively decent effort in their win over the Saints, though they did get a bit sloppy in the second half. Miami finished with 298 yards but only 134 pass yards, 16 first downs and a 4-of-12 success rate on third-down tries. The Dolphins’ defense gave up 294 total yards, 213 pass yards, 20 first downs and 4-of-12 on third-down attempts alongside a couple of takeaways. Don’t look now but the Dolphins have won three straight games. That said, Miami has been below 22 points in three of the last four outings.
As for the Jets, they mustered 269 yards, 159 pass yards, 4.3 yards per play, 16 first downs and 7-of-16 on third-down tries in their win over the Falcons. The offense had no turnovers but the team came away with nine total penalties. On defense the Jets gave up 389 yards, 5.8 yards per play and 25 first downs but did pretty well on thirds with a 4-of-12 success rate. Weirdly enough the Jets are 3-2 in their last five games with 27 or more points scored in all three wins. Miami will want to keep New York’s offense off the field and try to wear the defense down through ball control here.
