The Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints meet Sunday afternoon in week 11 NFL action from Lincoln Financial Field. New Orleans has lost their last two games. They’re coming off a two-point defeat by the Titans. As for the Eagles, they just finished up a 17-point win over the Broncos. Check back all season long for free NFL picks at Sports Chat Place.
New Orleans went 2-2 over their first four games this year, beating the Packers and Patriots. After a three-game win streak over Washington, Seattle and Tampa Bay, the Saints have lost their last pair to the Falcons and Titans.
In the 23-21 loss to Tennessee last weekend, New Orleans was down 13-6 at the break and couldn’t bridge the gap. QB Trevor Siemian finished with 298 yards and two scores, while Mark Ingram led the rushing attack on 14 carries for 47 yards and one TD.
Over on the Eagles’ side, they posted a 2-3 run over their first five games this year with wins over the Falcons and Panthers. In the five games since, Philly has gone 2-3 again with victories versus the Lions and Broncos.
Philadelphia took out Denver 30-13 in their last outing. The Eagles posted 20 in the first half and scored in every quarter. QB Jalen Hurts finished on 178 yards, two TDs and one pick. Jordan Howard led the rush with 83 yards and DeVonta Smith caught four balls for 66 yards and two TDs.
The Saints are 5-1 ATS in their last six in November and 4-1 ATS in their last five in Week 11. New Orleans is 36-15 ATS in the last 51 road games.
Meanwhile, the Eagles are 5-2 ATS in their last seven versus the NFC and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 as a favorite. Philly is 2-9 ATS in their last 11 after an ATS win.
PICK: I’m going to try Philadelphia, but staying away. The Eagles looked pretty solid in the Denver game, with 386 total yards, 214 rush yards, 6.0 yards per play and 22 first downs. Philly came up with just one sack and one turnover but held the Broncos to only 1-of-11 on third downs.
As for the Saints, they out-gained the Titans 373-264 in their game last weekend but still took the loss. On paper it wasn’t a bad effort but the slow start hurt. I think New Orleans will keep pace here for most of the game before Philly pulls off a late cover.
