The Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants clash Sunday in a week 16 NFC East NFL matchup from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The Giants are 4-10 this year and coming off a loss to the Cowboys. As for Philadelphia, they played Washington on Tuesday. In that one, the Eagles put up a 10-point victory. New York went 2-5 over their first seven games this year, losing to the Broncos, Washington, the Falcons, the Cowboys and Rams along the way. Another 2-5 run followed from there, with losses to the Chiefs, Bucs, Dolphins, Chargers and Cowboys.

Matched up against Dallas on Sunday, the Giants gave up points in each of the first three quarters during a 21-6 defeat. QB Mike Glennon finished with 99 yards and three interceptions, while Devontae Booker led the rush on 74 yards from eight totes.

Over on the Eagles’ side, they went 2-5 in their first seven as well. Philly beat only the Falcons and Panthers in that stretch. The Eagles went 4-2 over the next six games with wins over the Lions, Broncos, Saints and Jets.

In Tuesday’s game versus Washington, the Eagles were down 10-0 after the first quarter but quickly recovered in an eventual 27-17 win. QB Jalen Hurts put up 296 yards with one TD and a pick. Miles Sanders led the rush on 131 yards from 18 carries.

The Giants are 6-2 ATS in the last eight versus the NFC East and 19-7 ATS in their last 26 on grass. New York is 18-7-1 ATS versus a team with a losing record.

Meanwhile, the Eagles are 2-5 ATS in their last seven as a home favorite and the under is 7-2 in their last nine as a home favorite. The under is 5-2 in Philly’s last seven versus the NFC East.

PICK: I’m going to take a wild stab on the Giants, but staying away in reality. That’s not because I think New York will be doing much here; it’s mostly due to the thick line. The Giants are having all sorts of offensive issues right now; they’re coming off 302 total yards and 15 first downs against the Cowboys. The even worse news is that New York has scored 13 or fewer points in four of their last five.

As for Philly, they were great offensively against Washington on 519 yards, 23 first downs and 7-of-13 on third-down tries. The Eagles had four turnovers the last time they met up with New York, but should post a much better effort here. I still expect Philadelphia to win; the Giants might be a good play to stay in range, however–especially if the line inflates.
