The Washington Commanders and the Philadelphia Eagles meet Sunday in NFL action from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Here’s an Eagles vs Commanders prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Eagles vs Commanders pick.

Washington Commanders Betting Preview

Washington was able to take care of business against the Miami Dolphins in their preseason opener this year, powering out a 20-7 victory. In game two against the Detroit Lions, the Commanders weren’t so fortunate. Washington was very close on the scoreboard the whole way but ended up with a 17-13 loss in the end. The Commanders were burned by just nine first downs, a 4-of-12 success rate on third-down tries, and 11 penalties for 84 yards in the defeat. The defense gave up 169 rush yards on the other side but did bag a couple of takeaways.

In their preseason finale versus the Baltimore Ravens on August 28, the Commanders were in trouble by halftime, facing a 24-0 deficit. Things only got worse from there as Washington limped to a 41-3 blowout defeat. QB Sam Hartman was 9-of-14 for 64 yards, and Craig Reynolds added 38 yards off nine carries. Lawrence Cager led the receivers with six grabs for 34 yards.

Philadelphia Eagles Betting Preview

On the Eagles’ side, they gave up a couple of fourth-quarter touchdowns in their preseason opener versus the Baltimore Ravens on the way to a 24-7 loss. In game two versus the New England Patriots, Philadelphia was outscored 14-7 in the fourth quarter and lost the game 24-21. In that one, the Eagles collected 301 total yards (211 passing) and 5.1 yards per play, going a tepid 4-of-11 on third downs. The defense gave up 388 yards (248 passing) on the other side.

Matched up against the Cincinnati Bengals in their preseason finale on August 28, the Eagles managed to give up points in every quarter along the way to a 30-13 loss. Tanner McKee provided 55 yards and a pick on 12-of-22 passing, and Andy Dalton added 104 yards with a score on 12-of-19 passing. Dameon Pierce had four carries for 44 yards, and Carson Steele had 52 yards off eight catches.

Eagles vs Commanders Prediction

I’ll stay with the Eagles. Philly didn’t finish the preseason on a strong note, notching just 210 yards (140 passing), 3.6 yards per play, and 14 first downs in their defeat by the Bengals. The Eagles’ defense gave up 420 yards (211 rushing), 6.6 yards per play and 25 first downs on the other side. That said, Philadelphia is probably still in for a strong season in 2026. If everything breaks right, 12 or 13 wins isn’t unrealistic. The Eagles are certainly the team to beat in the NFC East.

As for Washington, they got pretty well destroyed in their final exhibition game versus the Ravens. The Commanders posted just 177 yards (102 passing), seven first downs, and a limp 1-of-12 success rate on third downs. The defense gave up 456 yards (261 passing) on the other side with 26 first downs. That doesn’t bode well for a Commanders team entering what will likely be another down year. Washington could flirt with the .500 mark if they stay healthy, but it’s going to be a long road.
