The Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens square off Sunday afternoon in week 13 NFL action from Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. Baltimore has won consecutive games. The Ravens are coming off a six-point victory over the Browns. As for the Steelers, they’re 0-2 in their last pair and took a blowout loss by Cincinnati in their last outing. The Ravens lost their opener to the Raiders this year, but hit a five-game win streak after that. Baltimore would go 3-2 in the five games since, falling to the Bengals and Dolphins while otherwise beating the Vikings, Bears and Browns.
In Sunday’s matchup against the Browns, Baltimore scored in every quarter (with only one TD) in an eventual 16-10 win. The Ravens’ Lamar Jackson had 165 yards with a score and four interceptions while also leading the rush with 68 yards on 17 carries.
Over on the Pittsburgh side, they limped to a 1-3 start this year. The Steelers hit their stride in October however, eventually winning five straight. Pittsburgh has dropped their last pair, losing to the Chargers and Bengals.
In the Sunday matchup versus Cincinnati, Pittsburgh was down 31-3 at halftime and didn’t get any closer from there in a 41-10 blowout loss. QB Ben Roethlisberger put up 263 yards with a TD and two INTs. Diontae Johnson caught nine balls for 95 yards.
The Ravens are 5-1 ATS in their last six in Week 13 and 9-2 ATS in their last 11 versus the AFC North. Baltimore is 1-4 ATS versus a team with a losing record.
Meanwhile, the Steelers are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 overall and 2-5 ATS in their last seven versus the AFC North. Pittsburgh is 3-8 ATS in their last 11 after a straight-up loss.
PICK: I’m going to try the Steelers, even though they’re coming off an ugly game. Pittsburgh posted 301 yards of offense against the Bengals, finding just 16 first downs and giving away three turnovers. The Steelers’ scoring has been wildly inconsistent lately with 16 or fewer points in three of the last five.
As for the Ravens, they weren’t super impressive in their last game but still got the win. Matchups between these two teams are always intense and seem to be close games. I like the Steelers to hang around in a relatively low-scoring outing to bag the cover. Should be a good one.
