The Cincinnati Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers meet Sunday in NFL action from Acrisure Stadium. Here’s a Steelers vs Bengals prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Steelers vs Bengals pick.

Cincinnati Bengals Betting Preview

This year the Bengals opened things up with a couple of wins over the Cleveland Browns and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Cincinnati hit the skids after that, falling versus the Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers in succession. The Bengals would then beat the Steelers and lose to the lowly New York Jets. In that defeat 39-38, Cincinnati gave up 502 yards, 254 rush yards, 7.2 yards per play, 25 first downs and a 7-of-15 success rate on third downs. The offense managed 398 yards on the other side with 6.9 yards per play and 24 first downs in the losing effort at home.

In their latest matchup versus the Chicago Bears back on November 2, the Bengals took another high-scoring loss. After scoring points in all four quarters—and giving up points in all four quarters as well—Cincinnati had a 47-42 defeat at home. QB Joe Flacco logged 470 yards with four scores and two picks, and Chase Brown led the rush with 37 yards on 11 totes. Tops in receiving was Tee Higgins with seven grabs for 121 yards and two touchdowns of his own.

Pittsburgh Steelers Betting Preview

Over on the Steelers’ side, they kicked off the season on a 4-1 run, falling to the Seahawks in game two while otherwise beating the New York Jets, New England Patriots, Minnesota Vikings and Cleveland Browns during that time. Following the loss to the Bengals, Pittsburgh fell to the Packers before a 27-20 win over the Colts. In that victory the Steelers offense managed a tepid 225 yards, 3.7 yards per play, 17 first downs and 4-of-12 on third-down tries. The defense had a whopping six takeaways on the other side however, while giving up 368 yards total in the win.

Matched up against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, the Steelers had another loss. Following a weird baseball score of 3-2 in the first quarter, Pittsburgh didn’t score again until the final frame—and gave up points in every quarter—during a 25-10 loss. Aaron Rodgers threw for 161 yards, one TD and two picks on 16-of-31 passing, while Jaylen Warren added 70 rush yards on 14 carries. DK Metcalf had 35 yards on three catches in the losing effort as well.

Steelers vs Bengals Prediction

I’ll lean toward the Steelers. That said, games between these two teams are usually competitive so we can throw away the record books and any preconceived notions of what will happen. That said, Pittsburgh also has to recover from their cross-country road loss last weekend. The Steelers offense was pretty miserable, gaining just 221 total yards with 4.4 yards per play, 11 first downs, three turnovers and 2-of-11 on third-down tries. The defense gave up 314 yards on the other side with 4.6 yards per play and 18 first downs—it wasn’t a terrible effort by that unit. The 10 points scored were a season-low for Pittsburgh; they’d been putting up points at a nice clip all season prior to that.

As for the Bengals, they coughed up 576 yards, 283 rush yards, 7.6 yards per play and 30 first downs to the Bears in their latest loss—not to mention three turnovers on offense. Cincinnati added 449 passing yards and 26 first downs though, which should have been enough to win. I’m leaning slightly toward Pittsburgh in this weekend’s rematch but I could go either way. It’s sure to be an entertaining game regardless of how the final score shakes out.
