The Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars square off Saturday in week 3 NFL preseason action from Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will still be looking for their first win of the preseason after a 16-15 loss to the Steelers to fall to 0-3. Trevor Lawrence threw for 133 yards on 14 of 21 passing while E.J. Perry had 92 yards and an INT on 6 of 11 passing and C.J. Beathard had 52 yards passing on 6 of 10 passing. Travis Etienne added a team-high 29 rushing yards on 8 carries while the aforementioned Beathard added a rushing score, the lone TD for the Jags in the loss. Tim Jones had a team-high 5 grabs for 70 yards while Christian Kirk also added 5 catches for 54 yards and Marvin Jones Jr. had 3 catches for 40 yards. On defense, Gregory Junior added a team-high 6 total tackles with 4 solo tackles while Arden Kay added a sack for Jacksonville in the loss.

The Atlanta Falcons will try to bounce back after a 23-16 loss to the Jets in their last matchup to fall to 1-1 on the year. Marcus Mariota threw for 132 yards and a TD while Desmond Ridder tossed for a team-high 143 yards on 10 of 13 passing. Feleipe Franks threw for just 8 yards, but led the Falcons with 45 rushing yards and Caleb Huntley had 34 rushing yards for Atlanta. Jared Bernhardt led the Falcons with 3 catches for 67 yards while Anthony Firkser had a pair of catches for 56 yards and Kyle Pitts’ lone reception went for 52 yards. On defense, Dean Marlowe led the Falcons with 7 total tackles including 6 solo tackles and Teez Tabor added an interception as well.

Jacksonville is 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games overall and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games while the over is 2-0-2 in their last 4 Saturday games. Atlanta is 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 home games while the under is 7-2 in their last 9 games overall.

I get the reasoning for backing either side here, but I’m looking at the under. These are two sides that are really not expected to feature any top line talent here, and it’s really hard to back the Falcons after how they folded in a big way in Monday’s loss to the Jets. On the other side, even putting in Trevor Lawrence couldn’t help the Jaguars secure a W and the offense has looked inept through three games. I’ll side with the under in another slopfest.
