The Atlanta Falcons and the San Francisco 49ers meet Sunday in NFL action from Levi’s Stadium. Here’s a 49ers vs Falcons prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best 49ers vs Falcons pick.

Atlanta Falcons Betting Preview

The Falcons managed to go a tepid .500 across their first four games this year. The losses came versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Carolina Panthers; otherwise it was victories over the Minnesota Vikings and the Washington Commanders in that time. In the 34-27 win over Washington at home, the Falcons came up with a nice 435 yards and 24 first downs on offense. The defense had a great day too, holding Washington to just 1-of-8 on third-down conversion attempts during the victory effort.

In their Monday outing versus the Buffalo Bills, the Falcons jumped out to a 21-7 lead by the end of the first half. Atlanta was outscored 7-3 the rest of the way but still held on for the upset win at home 24-14. QB Michael Penix finished 20-of-32 for 250 yards and a touchdown, while leading rusher Bijan Robinson carried 19 times for 170 yards and a touchdown. Drake London was the team’s leading receiver in the victory with 10 catches for 158 yards and a score.

San Francisco 49ers Betting Preview

Over on the 49ers’ side, they opened up the season with a trio of tight victories. San Francisco took out the Seattle Seahawks 17-13, the New Orleans Saints 26-2` and the Arizona Cardinals 16-15 in that time, but then took a tight loss 26-21 to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Following that home defeat San Francisco got back into the groove with a 26-23 win over the LA Rams. The Niners defense gave up 456 total yards (378 passing) and 7.1 yards per play in that one but also came up with a couple of fumble recoveries on the way to the overtime victory.

In their matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, the 49ers were down by four points heading into the second half. San Francisco was outscored 10-3 the rest of the way and ended up falling 30-19 in the end. QB Mac Jones had a rough outing on 27-of-39 passing for 347 yards and two interceptions while Christian McCaffrey carried 17 times for 54 yards and a score as the leading rusher. Kendrick Bourne added five catches for 142 yards as the team’s leading receiver.

49ers vs Falcons Prediction

I’ll go with the Falcons. Probably not touching this one, though. On Monday Atlanta played very well at home and dispatched a strong Bills team. The Falcons defense was great, giving up 291 yards (157 passing), 17 first downs, 2-of-9 on third-down tries and 5.4 yards per play alongside two interceptions. The offense accounted for 443 yards total, including 210 on the ground. Atlanta has now won three of tier last four games, scoring 22 or more points in each of the victories during that time. This weekend will serve as a solid test, however. We’ll get to see what the Falcons can do on a cross-country road trip. If the offense holds up we should have a competitive performance.

As for the Niners, they didn’t have the greatest game on Sunday during their road loss to the Bucs. San Francisco had a couple of interceptions alongside nine total penalties for 65 yards, going 7-of-16 on third downs with just 67 rushing yards. The defense held Tampa Bay to just 3-of-8 on third downs but also gave up 7.0 yards per play on average. The 49ers aren’t the most consistent scoring team in the world this year; they’ve been below 22 points in four of six games so far and have topped out at 26 points (twice). I’m not super enthused about their cover chances these days.
