The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears clash in week 2 Sunday Night Football NFL action from Lambeau Field. Chicago is 1-0 so far after taking an opener victory versus the 49ers. As for the Packers, they fell by 16 points to the rival Vikings in their Week 1 matchup. Check back all season long for free NFL picks at Sports Chat Place.

Chicago started out slow against the 49ers, going into halftime with a 7-0 deficit. The Bears started to look better in the third quarter, and eventually pulled off the 19-10 victory thanks to 12 points in the final quarter.

Chicago QB Justin Fields threw just 17 passes in the win, completing eight for 121 yards, two scores and a pick. Khalil Herbert managed 45 yards and a score off nine carries, and Dante Pettis led the receivers with his 51-yard touchdown catch.

Over on the Packers’ side, they opened up the season with quite a dud against the Vikings. Green Bay was down 17-0 by the break and things didn’t get much better from there. At game’s end the Packers had a 23-7 loss to start out the year at 0-1.

Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers posted 22-of-34 passing for 195 yards and an interception. Aaron Jones led the rush on 49 yards from five carries, and AJ Dillon was the top receiver with five catches and 46 yards.

The Bears are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 overall and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 on grass. Chicago is 5-14 ATS in their last 19 versus the NFC.

Meanwhile, the Packers are 4-0 ATS in their last four games in Week 2 and 7-2 ATS in the last nine at home. Green Bay is 9-3 ATS in their last 12 in September.

PICK: I might take a stab on the Bears here; the line seems inviting enough. Chicago did a decent enough job in their opener versus the 49ers—especially in the second half. The Bears came up with two turnovers and also benefitted from San Francisco’s 12 penalties from 99 yards, but a win is a win. Chicago is going to need to crank up the offensive output, though; they posted just 204 total yards in the victory.

As for Green Bay, they opened the year on a down note during a bad performance. The team wasn’t bad on defense, but the offense gave away a couple of turnovers and was a chilly 3-of-9 on third-down tries. Green Bay will certainly look better in Week 2, but I think the line is thick enough for Chicago to get in there.
