SNF: Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Kansas City Chiefs 10/2/22 NFL Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs do battle in week 4 Sunday Night Football NFL action from Raymond James Stadium. Kansas City is 2-1 so far this year and coming off a close loss to the Colts. As for Tampa Bay, they played the Packers last weekend and also took their first loss of the season. Kansas City kicked off the year with a couple of pretty solid victories. First came the opener versus the Cardinals. The Chiefs rolled to a 44-21 victory in that one. Game two versus the Chargers was much closer, but Kansas City still managed a 27-24 victory. 

Last weekend versus the Colts, the Chiefs had a 17-13 lead going into the final quarter. Kansas City was shut out from there and ended up losing 20-17. QB Patrick Mahomes put up 262 yards with a TD and a pick while also leading the rush with four carries for 26 yards. 

Over on the Buccaneers’ side, they kicked off the season with a road matchup versus the Cowboys. Tampa Bay came out of that one with a 19-3 win. Another road game came in week two versus the Saints, and the Bucs managed a 20-10 victory there. 

Tampa was able to score just three points in the first half against the Packers, ultimately stumbling to a 14-12 loss. QB Tom Brady managed 271 yards with a TD, and Russell Gage led the receivers on 87 yards and a score from 12 catches. 

The Chiefs are 4-1 ATS in their last five in week four and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 on grass. KC is 6-13 ATS in their last 19 after an ATS loss. 

Meanwhile, the Bucs are 4-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record and 11-4 ATS in their last 15 at home. Tampa is 9-4 ATS in their last 13 overall. 

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on the Buccaneers. You could make a good case either way here, though; it should be a great matchup. It’s all going to depend on which team can bounce back from a bad loss better. In any case, Tampa had an ugly offensive outing in the Packers game, posting just 34 rush yards and a 2-of-11 rate on third-down tries. The two lost fumbles didn’t help, either. 

As for KC, they edged out Indianapolis in most categories during their loss over the weekend. The Chiefs also struggled at times with two turnovers and a 3-of-10 run on third downs. I like both teams to rally and play better in this one; should be a fun watch.
