The Minnesota Vikings and the Tennessee Titans meet Friday in NFL action from Nissan Stadium. This will be the final preseason game for both teams. Here’s a Titans vs Vikings prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Titans vs Vikings pick.
Minnesota Vikings Betting Preview
The Vikings have a pair of preseason games in the bag already. First came an August 9 matchup versus the Houston Texans. Minnesota overcame an early deficit in that one, posting 10 points in the second quarter and a 7-3 advantage in the second half on the way to a 20-10 victory in the end. Sam Howell did most of the passing work in that one with 105 yards on an 11-of-13 line, but Max Brosmer (5-of-8; 47 yards) threw the lone touchdown pass. Tops in rushing was Zavier Scott with seven carries for 40 yards. Jordan Addison caught three balls for 33 yards as the leading receiver. Lucky Jackson added three catches for 30 yards as well.
In game two versus the New England Patriots this past weekend, Minnesota’s offense went quiet despite scoring in each of the final three quarters. The Vikings took a 14-3 deficit into the break and eventually ended up with a 20-12 defeat. Brosmer got a lot more action this time, going 15-of-27 for 156 yards and an interception. Brett Rypien stepped in for 83 yards on 7-of-11 passing, while Scott once again led the rush with 10 totes for a modest 28 yards. Tim Jones was the leading receiver with five grabs for 68 yards, and Scott added three catches for 44 yards as well.
Tennessee Titans Betting Preview
Over on the Titans’ side, they’ve got a pair of exhibition games in the can as well. Tennessee first faced off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on August 9 and things didn’t go very well. The Titans were looking at a 13-7 deficit going into the fourth quarter and got outscored 16-0 from there during a 29-7 loss. Tim Boyle had a rough day with a pair of interceptions on 4-of-13 passing for 24 yards. Cameron Ward went 5-of-8 for 67 yards, and Brandon Allen had 62 yards with a pick. Kalel Mullings topped the rush with seven carries for 33 yards. Calvin Ridley was one of only two players (besides Jordan Mims with two catches) with more than one reception, totaling three grabs for 50 yards.
Game two against the Atlanta Falcons went a lot better for Tennessee. The Titans were up 13-3 by halftime, but then let Atlanta crawl back into it with a 17-7 deficit in the third. A fourth-quarter field goal lifted Tennessee to a 23-20 win in the end, however. Allen looked better this time despite an interception, posting 11-of-14 for 119 yards and a score. Mims was tops in rushing with 12 carries for 50 yards, and Mullings added eight carrels for 25 yards. Jermar Jefferson had a rush TD, and Gunnar Helm was tops in receiving with 48 yards and a score off four catches in the win.

Titans vs Vikings Prediction
I’ll stay with the Vikings in this one, but it’s probably not one to mess with. Minnesota (and Tennessee, for that matter) will likely be trying some different looks and cycling a lot of different players as they get set for the regular season in what’s essentially a meaningless game. That said, it’d be nice to see the Vikings post a better effort all around tan they did against the Patriots.
In that matchup, Minnesota had 273 total yards with just 54 of those coming on the ground. They were outpaced on first downs 19-15 and went a tepid 5-of-15 on third-down conversions. The 10 penalties (for 64 yards) and two interceptions didn’t help matters either. That said, Minnesota should match up pretty well with Tennessee here.
