The Washington Commanders and Tennessee Titans square off Sunday in week 5 NFL action from FedExField. The Titans enter this one at 2-2 following a seven-point win over the Colts in their last game. As for Washington, they’re 1-3 this season following a 15-point loss to the Cowboys. Check back all season long for free NFL picks at Sports Chat Place.

Tennessee’s year started out on a rough note as the team fell to the Giants 21-20 during the opener. The Titans’ fortunes got worse in week two against Buffalo as the team lost 41-7. Tennessee got their first win of the year against the Raiders in a 24-22 outcome.

Last weekend against the Colts, the Titans jumped out to a 24-10 halftime lead. Tennessee didn’t score after that in a 24-17 win. QB Ryan Tannehill put up 137 yards with two touchdowns, and Derrick Henry added 22 carries for 114 yards and a score.

Over on the Washington side, they were able to topple the Jaguars in their opener, taking a 28-22 victory. Game two against Detroit ended up a 36-27 loss, and the Commanders fell again against the Eagles in a 24-8 outcome.

Washington took on the Cowboys last weekend. The Commanders scored just three points after halftime in a 25-10 loss. QB Carson Wentz posted 170 yards with a TD and two interceptions. Tops in receiving was Jahan Dotson with 43 yards and a TD on three grabs.

The Titans are 5-0 ATS in the last five in October and 2-6 ATS in their last eight after a straight-up win. Tennessee is 1-4 ATS in their last five road games.

Meanwhile, the Commanders are 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine on grass and 0-4 ATS in their last four in Week 5. Washington is 0-5 ATS in their last five in October.

PICK: I’m probably staying with the Titans. Tennessee wasn’t great against the struggling Colts, but the 243 total yards and 19 first downs were enough for the victory. The Titans gave up 365 yards (327 passing) on the other side, but also forced three turnovers. Overall it’s been a decent-but-not-great couple of weeks for Tennessee.

As for Washington, they tossed a couple of interceptions and committed 11 penalties against the Cowboys. Overall it wasn’t a great game from either side though, and the Commanders weren’t close to winning. Washington has scored just 18 points over the last two games combined, and though I think they’ll do better here I can’t trust them on the cover.
