Washington Football Team vs Dallas Cowboys 12/12/21 NFL Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Washington Football Team and Dallas Cowboys clash in a Sunday NFC East NFL rivalry from FedEx Field in Landover. Dallas is 2-2 over their last four games and took out the Saints in their last appearance. As for Washington, they’re on a four-game win streak The Team beat the Raiders last weekend. Dallas lost their opener this year to Tampa Bay, but then hit a nice six-game win streak that lasted into November. Since then the Cowboys are 2-3 with losses to the Broncos, Chiefs and Raiders alongside wins over the Falcons and Saints. 

In the matchup versus the Saints last Thursday, Dallas was steady and scored in every quarter. The end result was a 27-17 victory for the Cowboys. QB Dak Prescott finished on 238 yards with a TD and a pick, while Tony Pollard led the rush with 71 yards and a score. 

Over on the Washington side, they went 2-2 over their first four games before losing to the Saints, Chiefs, Packers and Broncos. Since then it’s been four straight wins over the Buccaneers, Panthers, Seahawks and Raiders. 

In the win over the Raiders, Washington had a slim 7-6 lead heading into the fourth quarter and hung on for the 17-15 victory. Quarterback Taylor Heincke put up 196 yards with two TDs and a pick, while Logan Thomas caught three balls for 48 yards and a touchdown. 

The Cowboys are 4-0 ATS in their last four games in December and 7-0 ATS in their last seven versus the NFC. Dallas is 5-1 ATS in their last six road games and 12-4 ATS in their last 16 overall. 

Meanwhile, Washington is 4-0 ATS in their last four overall and 4-0 ATS in their last four on grass. The Team is 5-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record. 

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on Washington here. These teams will meet twice over the next three games, and by then we’ll have a better idea at what the division will look like. The Team put up a solid effort against a tricky Raiders squad in their last outing, posting 298 yards with 23 first downs and 7-of-13 on third-down tries. It’s been a good run for them over the last four games. 

As for Dallas, they’ve been up and down over their last five games, with 16 or fewer points in two of the three losses in that stretch. I still like the Cowboys to get a win here, but I think Washington can eke into a cover during a tight game. Should be a fun matchup.
