The Washington Football Team and Philadelphia Eagles meet Sunday in a key week 17 NFL NFC East contest from FedEx Field. Philadelphia is 8-7 this year and fresh off a win over the Giants. As for Washington, they’re 6-9 so far. The Team lost to Dallas in their last game. Check back all season long for free NFL picks at Sports Chat Place.

Philadelphia went just 2-5 over their first seven games, beating the Falcons and Panthers along the way. The Eagles have won six games since then, taking out the Lions, Broncos, Saints, Jets, Washington and the Giants.

In the matchup versus the Giants on Sunday, Philadelphia scored just three points in the first half. The Eagles went wild with 31 second-half points for a 34-10 win. QB Jalen Hurts led the way on 199 yards and two scores, while DeVonta Smith caught five balls for 80 yards and a TD.

Over on the Washington side, they hit a 2-5 run over their first seven games as well. The Team hit a four-game win streak in November/December, but have since lost to the Cowboys, Eagles and Dallas again in their last trio.

In the Sunday game against the Cowboys, the Team gave up 42 points in the first half and had little chance at competing in a 56-14 blowout loss. QB Taylor Heinicke posted 121 yards, one TD and two picks. Jaret Patterson rushed for 33 yards.

The Eagles are 7-1 ATS in their last eight January games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven in Week 17. Philadelphia is 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven versus the NFC.

Meanwhile, the Team is 2-5 ATS in their last seven in January and 8-20-1 ATS in their last 29 versus the NFC East. Washington is 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine after an ATS loss.

PICK: I’m probably staying with Philly in this one. The Eagles looked pretty good against a weak Giants squad in their last game, posting 324 yards and 5.4 yards per play. It was mostly a defensive effort, though; Philadelphia had a tepid 17 first downs and committed 11 penalties.

As for the Team, they had an early lead the last time these teams met up but ultimately lost 27-17. I don’t think Washington will keep up here, either.
