The New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers clash Sunday in a NFC South division showdown in week 2 NFL action from the Caesars Superdome.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be looking to build on their season-opening 19-3 win over Dallas on Sunday Night Football. Tom Brady has thrown for 212 yards, a touchdown and an interception on 66.7% passing while Leonard Fournette leads the Bucs on the ground with 127 rushing yards. Mike Evans has a team-high 5 catches for 71 yards and a touchdown while Julio Jones has 69 receiving yards up to this point. On defense, Devin White leads the Bucs with 8 total tackles including 7 solo tackles and a pair of sacks while Antoine Winfield Jr. has an interception as well.
The New Orleans Saints will try to build on a 27-26 come-from-behind win to kick off their season against Atlanta last time out. Jameis Winston has thrown for 269 yards and 2 touchdowns on 67.6% passing while Taysom Hill leads the Saints with 81 rushing yards and a score. Jarvis Landry leads New Orleans in receiving with 7 grabs for 114 yards while Michael Thomas has 5 catches for 57 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Tampa Bay is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 division games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games against a team with a winning record. New Orleans is 11-5 ATS in their last 16 division games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games as an underdog.
I will concede the fact that both teams have stuff they need to fix coming into this week. As Tampa Bay’s offensive line took another hit and the offense for the Bucs was lacking against Dallas, while Tampa Bay needs to have more of a killer instinct and not let Atlanta of all teams run roughshod on them before coming back later on. The Saints have been a thorn in Tom Brady’s side since going to Tampa Bay, but I think the Bucs are just the better team here and only laying a field goal with TB12 is too good to pass on. Give me the Bucs.
