The Carolina Panthers and Arizona Cardinals clash Sunday in a NFC week 4 NFL contest from Bank of America Stadium. Arizona is sitting at 1-2 so far and coming off a loss to the Rams. As for Carolina, they’re 1-2 as well this year. The Panthers got their first win last weekend over the Saints. Check back all season long for free NFL picks at Sports Chat Place.
Arizona had a tough matchup in their 2022 opener and didn’t play all that well. The Cardinals ended up losing 44-21 to the Chiefs. In week two, Arizona played a tight game against the Raiders. The Cardinals eventually triumphed 29-23 in overtime for their first victory.
In last weekend’s matchup versus the Rams, the Cardinals were down 13-6 heading into the break. The Cardinals got a couple of field goals in the second but ultimately fell 20-12. QB Kyler Murray managed 314 yards, and James Conner added 39 rush yards.
Over on the Panthers’ side, they kicked off the 2022 season with a close game versus the Browns. Carolina fell in that one 26-24. Game two was another tense affair and another loss for the Panthers. That one came 19-16 to the Giants.
Carolina finally got in the win column last weekend versus the Saints. The Panthers had a 13-0 lead going into the fourth quarter and ended up with a 22-14 win. QB Baker Mayfield finished with 170 yards and a TD. Christian McCaffrey added 108 yards on 25 carries.
The Cardinals are 7-1 ATS in their last eight in October and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 in week four. Arizona is 1-4 ATS in the last five overall.
Meanwhile, the Panthers are 8-3 ATS in the last 11 in week four and 7-19-1 ATS in their last 27 at home. Carolina is 3-14 ATS in the last 17 overall.
PICK: I’m going to try the Cardinals in this one. Probably not touching it, though. Arizona did an okay job on offense in the loss to the Rams last weekend, posting 365 total yards with 23 first downs and no turnovers. Needless to say, the Cardinals need to finish off drives by getting into the end zone more often.
As for Carolina, they were out-gained 426-293 in their win over the Saints, notching just 12 first downs and a 4-of-14 rate on third-down tries. This matchup could go a lot of different ways, and it’ll probably end close.
