The Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks do battle Sunday in a NFC week 4 NFL contest from Ford Field. Seattle is 1-2 so far this year and coming off a loss to the Falcons. As for the Lions, they took a loss to the Vikings in their last game to fall to 1-2 as well. Check back all season long for free NFL picks at Sports Chat Place.

Seattle opened up their year versus the Broncos. The Seahawks didn’t score in the second half but were able to hang on for the 17-16 win. In game two versus the 49ers, Seattle was overmatched in a 27-7 loss.

Back on Sunday versus the Falcons, the Seahawks had a three-point lead at halftime. Seattle saw that lead disappear and ended up losing 27-23. QB Geno Smith put up 325 yards with two scores and a pick. Tyler Lockett added nine catches for 76 yards.

Over on the Lions’ side, their year opened up with a high-scoring affair versus the Eagles. Detroit lost that shootout 38-35. The Lions managed their first win of the year the next weekend, taking out Washington 36-27.

In game three versus the rival Vikings, Detroit was up 24-14 going into the fourth quarter. The Lions were outscored 14-0 from there in a 28-24 loss. QB Jared Goff put up 277 yards with one TD and one INT. Jamaal Williams added 20 carries for 87 yards and two touchdowns.

The Seahawks are 5-1 ATS in their last six in week four and 4-1 ATS in their last five in October. Seattle is 6-14 ATS in their last 20 versus the NFC.

Meanwhile, the Lions are 4-0 ATS in their last four overall and 4-0 ATS in the last four versus the NFC. Detroit is 6-2 ATS in their last eight after an ATS win.

PICK: I’m going with Seattle but probably staying away. The Seahawks didn’t do a terrible job offensively in the loss to the Falcons, posting 420 yards, 6.1 yards per play and 23 first downs. Seattle was pretty ineffective after halftime, though.

As for the Lions, they managed 416 yards with 23 first downs against the Vikings but went just 3-of-16 on third-down tries. Detroit was also shut down in the fourth quarter despite a pretty good run up until that point. This matchup should be a pretty good one, and I think the Seahawks can get in there.
