The Houston Texans and Los Angeles Chargers clash Sunday in a week 4 NFL AC game from NRG Stadium.

The Los Angeles Chargers will look to rebound from back-to-back losses after a 38-10 loss to Jacksonville last time out. Justin Herbert has thrown for 910 yards, 7 touchdowns and a pair of interceptions on 66.1% passing while Austin Ekeler has a team-high 80 rushing yards this season. Gerald Everett and DeAndre Carter each have a team-high 150 receiving yards while 5 different Chargers including Everett and Carter each have 100+ receiving yards this season. On defense, Derwin James Jr. and Drue Tranquill each have a team-high 24 total tackles while Khalil Mack has a team-high 4 sacks so far this season.

The Houston Texans will look to rebound from back-to-back road losses after a 23-20 loss to the Chicago Bears last time out. Davis Mills has thrown for 662 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions on 57.9% passing while Dameon Pierce has a team-high 182 rushing yards so far this season. Brandin Cooks leads the Texans with 13 grabs for 158 yards and another pair of Houston receivers have 100+ receiving yards as well this season. On defense, Jonathan Owens has a team-high 36 total tackles including 23 solo tackles while Jerry Hughes also has 4 sacks and an interception and Jalen Pitre has a pair of interceptions up to this point.

Los Angeles is 11-3 ATS in their last 14 games following a double-digit loss at home and 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 October games while the over is 7-1 in their last 8 games following a loss. Houston is 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games in October and 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games overall while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games following a loss.

I am initially going to lean towards the Chargers because I want to see how Justin Herbert’s rib situation gets updated throughout the week. That being said, while I have hopes for Houston’s progression this season, the fact remains that this is still going to be one of the worst teams in the league this season and if the Chargers can’t get their issues sorted out here, there’s going to be some issues and Brandon Staley’s rump is going to get a lot warmer. Give me the Chargers here.
