The Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers clash Sunday in a week 7 NFL matchup from Bank of America Stadium.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will look to rebound after falling to 3-3, losing three of their last four games after a 20-18 loss on the road to Pittsburgh last time out. Tom Brady has thrown for 1,652 yards, 8 touchdowns and an interception on 67.2% passing while Leonard Fournette has a team-high 343 rushing yards this season. Mike Evans also has a team-high 358 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns while Chris Godwin has 250 receiving yards and Leonard Fournette has 232 receiving yards and 3 TDs as well this season. On defense, Devin White has a team-high 48 total tackles as well as 3 sacks while Antoine Winfield Jr. has 3 sacks as well and Jamel Dean has a pair of interceptions for the Buccaneers this season.
The Carolina Panthers will be out to snap a three-game losing streak after a 24-10 loss to the Rams to fall to 1-5 on the year. Baker Mayfield has thrown for 962 yards, 4 touchdowns and 4 interceptions on 54.9% passing while Christian McCaffrey has a team-high 393 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns. McCaffrey also has a team-high 277 receiving yards while DJ Moore has 204 receiving yards as well on the year. On defense, Shaq Thompson has a team-high 39 total tackles while Brian Burns has a team-high 4 sacks.
Tampa Bay is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games against the NFC. Carolina is 7-21-1 ATS in their last 29 home games and 4-17 ATS in their last 21 games overall while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games in October.
I get the case to be made for either side in this one, but I’m looking at the under here. I’m not trusting Tampa Bay’s offense after yet another clunker in the loss to a bad Pittsburgh team, while Carolina’s offense got worse by trading away Robbie Anderson on Monday. I just see this as an ugly slopfest that’s going to struggle to get past the mid-30s. Give me the under here.
