The Jets look for their third straight victory when they head into Joe Louis Arena to take on a Red Wings team who has lost back to back contests in overtime.
The Winnipeg Jets are finally starting to play like the team that many expected we would see this season as they have ripped off back to back contests in convincing fashion and are starting to climb the Central division standings. Winnipeg has a very nice balance up front led by Brian Little who is taking over as the team’s most reliable goal scorer but they also have Evander Kane, Andrew Ladd, and Dustin Byfuglien to rely on and heading into Detroit to face the Wings they’ll need as much help as they can get. The Jets can hit the .500 mark with a win tonight but they sit with a 2-4 mark away from home and against a Red Wings team who is tough to beat at home the Jets will need a special effort here.

The Red Wings are normally a solid team when playing at the Joe but so far this season they have struggled a bit with a 3-2-4 mark on home ice and while they are still collecting points they are leaving valuable points on the ice and when it comes to playoff positioning it is the games on home ice where they didn’t grab two points that can make a difference. Detroit will for a better offensive effort as they have yet to put up a statement type effort on the scoresheet and against a Jets team who is playing much better it might have to come in another game. This game to me is going to be closer than the line indicates but either way I think both teams will take some time to feel out the pace of the game and as such I think the goalies steal the show. Take the under.
