The Ducks look for their second win in as many nights as they head from Chicago to St. Louis to take on the Blues.
Anaheim kept their hat in the running as a Stanley Cup contender with a big shootout victory over the Central division leading Chicago Blackhawks last night and now they have a chance to add an exclamation mark in St. Louis. The Ducks outlasted the Hawks and came away victorious just a couple days after failing to score in the skills competition in an eight round marathon against the Kings as they validated their offensive depth with a big two points. However, playing their third straight game against a Western Conference power might prove taxing as this will certainly feel like a playoff type game both in atmosphere and physical nature. The Ducks are likely to go with Jonas Hiller who continues to be their rock as he goes up against Jaroslav Halak for the Blues.

St. Louis is one of the nicer stories in the league as they have a great team but don’t have any real superstars that will be on the cover of video games anytime soon and since they’re in the Midwest they seem to fly under the radar a little more than teams like Chicago and Boston. The bottom line though is that the Blues are a very talented team and shouldn’t be taken lightly against anybody and through 27 games this season they have accumulated 41 points. St. Louis has been very good at home while the Ducks have been their worst on the road which accounts for the line being what it is in this one but again I think the Ducks will be exhausted in their third tough matchup of the week. I am taking the Blues at home here in regulation.
