The Anaheim Ducks will look to bounce back from a 5-4 loss to Vegas in their last matchup. Max Comtois leads the Ducks in scoring with 7 points including 5 goals and a pair of assists while Carter Rowney, Hampus Lindholm and Ryan Getzlaf each have 6 points with Rowney logging 6 assists while Getzlaf has 5 assists and Lindholm’s put up 4 assists. John Gibson’s started the majority of Anaheim’s starts, going 4-6-1 with a pair of shutouts and a 2.48 GAA this season.
The Vegas Golden Knights will look to build on their 5-4 win over Anaheim and their 8-1-1 start to the year. Mark Stone has 15 points to lead Vegas, with 12 of those points coming via assists while Max Pacioretty logging 11 points with 6 goals and 5 assists and Shea Theodore putting up 10 points so far this season with7 of those being assists. Alex Tuch and Jonathan Marchessault each have 9 points with Tuch logging 4 goals with 3 assists and Marchessault recording 3 goals and 6 helpers. Robin Lehner and Marc-Andre Fleury have each started 5 games for Vegas, with Fleury winning all 5 of his starts with a shutout and a 1.80 GAA while Lehner’s 3-1-1 with a 2.56 GAA on the year.
Anaheim is 2-5 in their last 7 games overall and 1-4 in their last 5 games as an underdog while the under is 7-2 in their last 9 games against a team with a winning record. Vegas is 22-6 in their last 28 home games and 5-2 in their last 7 games following a win while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall. Anaheim is 1-10 in the last 11 meetings between these two teams and 0-7 in the last 7 meetings between the two teams in Vegas.
I can’t believe I’m saying this with how much I’ve been on Anaheim’s case this season, but I’m actually going to take a shot on Anaheim with the +1.5 here. Every time I seem to back Vegas, they win by one in situations where they should blow out the other team (like Anaheim) like we saw in the last meeting. The offense for Anaheim’s also starting to wake up, and the defense has done its job for the majority of the year so I think the Ducks on the plus puck line hold some value here.
