The Winnipeg Jets and the Edmonton Oilers meet in NHL action from Rogers Place on Monday night.

The Winnipeg Jets will try to bounce back from a 2-1 loss to Ottawa last time out. Mark Scheifele leads the Jets in scoring with 18 points including 6 goals and a team-high 12 assists while Nikolaj Ehlers has 16 points with a team-high 9 goals and 7 assists. Kyle Connor has 13 points with 7 goals and 6 assists and Andrew Copp and Blake Wheeler each have 4 goals and 8 assists for their 12 points respectively. Neal Pionk also has 10 points with a goal and 9 assists for the Jets. Connor Hellebuyck’s seen the bulk of the workload for the Jets, picking up 6 wins in 11 appearances with a 2.36 GAA this season.

The Edmonton Oilers will look to build on a 3-0 win over the Montreal Canadiens in their last matchup. Connor McDavid leads the Oilers in scoring with 28 points coming on 9 goals and 19 assists while Leon Draisaitl has 26 points with 8 goals and 18 helpers this season. Darnell Nurse and Tyson Barrie each have 12 points with Nurse posting 6 goals and 6 assists while Barrie has 3 goals with 9 helpers and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has 11 points with 5 goals and 6 assists. Mikko Koskinen’s started the majority of Edmonton’s matchups, going 6-7 with a 3.43 GAA this season.

Winnipeg is 2-7 in their last 9 games as a road underdog and 1-4 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games as a road underdog. Edmonton is 6-1 in their last 7 games overall and 4-1 in their last 5 games following a win while the over is 4-1-1 in their last 6 games against a team with a winning record. Winnipeg is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings between these two teams and 4-1 in the last 5 meetings between these two in Edmonton.

I've gone back and forth on this one as Winnipeg just has a ton of depth throughout the lineup and you can never count the Oilers out with McDavid and Draisaitl in their ranks. With that said, I’m going to back the over here as I’m expecting quite a few goals in this one and I just don’t see any way how this one stays under the number.
