The San Jose Sharks and the St. Louis Blues meet in NHL action from the Enterprise Center on Saturday night.
The San Jose Sharks will look to bounce back from a 3-2 loss to St. Louis last time out. Logan Couture leads the Sharks in scoring with 13 points coming on 7 goals and 6 assists while Tomas Hertl and Evander Kane each have 10 points with Hertl logging 6 goals with 4 assists while Kane’s flipped it with 4 goals and 6 helpers on the year. Ryan Donato’s got 8 points with 3 goals and 5 helpers and Brent Burns and Timo Meier each have 7 points. Martin Jones continues to see the majority of starts for the Sharks, going 6-5 with a 3.66 GAA this season.
The St. Louis Blues will look to build on their win over the Sharks last time out. David Perron leads the Blues in scoring with 18 points including 6 goals and 12 assists while Ryan O’Reilly, Brayden Schenn and Jordan Kyrou each have 14 points with O’Reilly logging 9 assists while Schenn has 8 goals with 6 assists and Kyrou has 6 goals with 8 assists. Mike Hoffman has 6 goals and 6 assists for his 12 points while Torey Krug’s got 10 points with 9 assists this season. Jordan Binnington continues to see the majority of St. Louis’ action in goal, going 8-3 with a 2.34 GAA in 13 games played this season.
San Jose is 6-13 in their last 19 games overall and 5-13 in their last 18 road games while the under is 10-1 in their last 11 Saturday games. St. Louis is 4-11 in their last 15 home games and 1-4 in their last 5 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 9-3 in their last 12 home games. San Jose is 1-7 in the last 8 meetings between these two teams and 1-5 in the last 6 meetings between these two teams in St. Louis.
I’ve had a hard time getting a true feel for either of these teams on a consistent basis as San Jose’s got the talent that just isn’t producing results while the Blues usually perform well but have hiccups here and there when you don’t expect it. Either way, I’m expecting goals to be scored in bunches in this one, as I could see a 5-3 game whichever way you have it going, so I’ll side with the over in this one.
