The Winnipeg Jets and the Vancouver Canucks meet in NHL action from the Rogers Arena on Sunday night.
The Winnipeg Jets will look to build on a 2-0 win over Vancouver in their last matchup. Mark Scheifele leads the Jets with 23 points coming on 9 goals and a team-high 14 assists while Nikolaj Ehlers has a team-high 10 goals and 8 assists for his 18 points. Kyle Connor has 8 goals and 8 assists for his 16 points and Neal Pionk and Blake Wheeler each have 14 points with a combined 21 assists between the two. Andrew Copp’s got 12 points with 4 goals and 8 assists and Adam Lowry and Mason Appleton each have 10 points this season. Connor Hellebuyck continues to start the majority of Winnipeg’s games, going 7-5-1 with a 2.61 GAA in 13 appearances while Laurent Brossoit has a 3-1 record with a shutout and a 2.24 GAA.
The Vancouver Canucks will look to bounce back from yet another frustrating loss to the Winnipeg Jets last time out. Brock Boeser leads the Canucks in scoring with 21 points on 12 goals and 9 assists while Quinn Hughes has 20 points with a team-high 18 assists. J.T. Miller has 16 points with 4 goals and 12 helpers and Bo Horvat is right behind with 15 points coming on 8 goals and 7 assists. Elias Pettersson’s got 14 points with 5 goals and 9 helpers and Tyler Myers has 10 points with 2 goals and 8 assists. Thatcher Demko’s made 12 appearances for the Canucks with a 4-8 record and a 3.31 GAA while Braden Holtby’s got a 4-5 mark with a 3.44 GAA on the year.
Winnipeg is 1-5 in their last 6 games following a win and 11-5 in their last 16 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 games following a win. Vancouver is 2-8 in their last 10 games overall and 2-6 in their last 8 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 home games. Winnipeg is 16-5 in the last 21 meetings between these two teams and 5-0 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams in Vancouver.
Only allowing two goals for the Canucks is a nice change, but it doesn’t change the fact that I don’t trust this goaltending in Vancouver as far as I can throw it, and we’re getting the cheaper price with what I feel is the better and deeper team from top to bottom, so I’ll take it and back the Winnipeg Jets once again here.
