The Detroit Red Wings and the Nashville Predators meet in NHL action from Bridgestone Arena on Thursday night.

The Detroit Red Wings will look to bounce back after a narrow 2-1 loss to Florida in their last outing. Dylan Larkin leads the Wings in scoring with 10 points coming on 4 goals and 6 assists while Bobby Ryan, Anthony Mantha and Tyler Bertuzzi each have 7 points with Ryan and Mantha each logging 4 goals and 3 assists and Bertuzzi posting 5 goals and a pair of helpers as well this season. Filip Hronek also has 6 assists for the Red Wings as well this season. Thomas Greiss has started the majority of Detroit’s games so far this season, picking up just 1 win in 11 starts with a 2.90 GAA this season.

The Nashville Predators will look to bounce back after being on the wrong end of another beating at the hands of the Tampa Bay Lightning last time out, this one coming by a final count of 6-1. Filip Forsberg leads Nashville in scoring with 11 points including 6 goals and 5 assists while Mikael Granlund and Viktor Arvidsson each have 7 points with Granlund logging 3 goals with 4 assists and Arvidsson posting 2 goals with 5 assists. Matt Duchene and Roman Josi each have 6 points as well, both logging 2 goals and 4 assists for the Preds this season. Juuse Saros and Pekka Rinne continue to split the workload in goal, with Saros posting 3 wins in 8 starts with a 3.68 GAA while Rinne has a pair of wins and a 2.65 GAA this year.

Detroit is 13-38 in their last 51 games against a team with a losing record and 13-52 in their last 65 games overall while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games as an underdog. Nashville is 5-0 in their last 5 games as a home favorite and 1-5 in their last 6 games overall while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games as a favorite. Detroit is 10-2 in the last 12 meetings between these two teams and 6-0 in the last 6 meetings between the two in Nashville.

I get why Nashville would be favored at home, but not this heavy favored and while the losses were against a very good Tampa Bay team, the Predators were still beat up pretty bad. Detroit is not a good hockey team, but they haven’t been for a while now and still have Nashville’s number as of late so I’ll take a shot with Detroit and the plus money in this spot.
