The Detroit Red Wings and the Nashville Predators meet in NHL action from the Bridgestone Arena on Tuesday night.
The Detroit Red Wings will look to bounce back from a 3-0 loss to Dallas in their last matchup. Filip Hronek leads the Red Wings in scoring with 18 points and a team-high 17 assists while Dylan Larkin has 16 points with 6 goals and 10 assists with a team-high 91 shots on goal. Anthony Mantha and Robby Fabbri each have 15 points with Mantha logging 8 goals and 7 assists and Fabbri adding 9 goals and 6 assists. As a team, Detroit is averaging 2.3 goals on 27.7 shots with a 12.1% success rate on the PP while allowing 3.3 goals on 31.6 shots against with a 71.9% success rate on the PK this season.
The Nashville Predators will look to build off of a 4-3 shootout win over the Stars last time out. Filip Forsberg leads the Predators in scoring with 28 points including team-highs of 11 goals and 17 assists while Roman Josi has 16 points with 14 assists this season. Calle Jarnkrok has 15 points with 9 goals and Mattias Ekholm and Viktor Arvidsson each have 14 points with a combined 19 assists between the two this season. As a team, Nashville is averaging 2.3 goals on 30.8 shots per game with a 19% success rate on the power play while allowing 3.2 goals on 31.2 shots against with a 70.5% conversion rate on the PK this season.
Detroit is 20-63 in their last 83 games overall and 10-41 in their last 51 road games while the under is 2-0-2 in their last 4 games as an underdog. Nashville is 3-7 in their last 10 games following a win and 1-7 in their last 8 games playing on 1 days rest while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games as a home favorite. Detroit is 12-4 in the last 16 meetings between these two teams and 7-1 in the last 8 meetings between these two teams in Detroit.
I think the trend between these two this season has been that Nashville wins the first game and Detroit wins the rematch and with the Predators being much better at home this season, Nashville being favored at home makes sense. However, Detroit’s found a bit of success recently, and while a lot of that has to do with being at home, the bottom line is that the Red Wings have had the majority of the success in this matchup, especially in Nashville’s own arena, so I’ll take a shot with the Red Wings and the plus money in this spot.
