The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Nashville Predators meet in NHL action from the Bridgestone Arena on Tuesday night.
The Tampa Bay Lightning will look to build on their 3-0 win over Nashville in their last matchup. Victor Hedman leads the Bolts in scoring with 37 points including a team-high 30 assists while Ondrej Palat has 35 points with 12 goals and 23 apples. Steven Stamkos and Brayden Point each have 34 points with Stamkos logging a team-high 17 goals while Point is one behind with 16 goals this season. The Nashville Predators will look to build on their 3-2 win over Dallas last time out. Filip Forsberg leads Nashville in scoring with 29 points including a team-high 11 goals with 18 assists while Roman Josi has 24 points with a team-high 20 assists this season. Eell Toivanen and Mikael Granlund each have 10 goals as well for the Preds this season. As a team, Nashville is averaging 2.5 goals on 30.3 shots with a 20.5% success rate on the PP while allowing 2.8 goals on 31 shots against with a 74.4% success rate on the PK this season.
Tampa Bay is 70-29 in their last 99 games overall and 36-17 in their last 53 road games while the over is 7-1 in their last 8 road games. Nashville is 4-1 in their last 5 home games and 7-1 in their last 8 games overall while the under is 2-0-2 in their last 4 games playing on 1 days rest.
I get why taking the Lightning as the favorite would make sense as the Lightning have once again been solid in the regular season. However, Nashville is still playing their best hockey of the year so far and they’ve performed well at home this season and simply put, there’s once again too much value to pass on with the Preds here. I’ll take a shot on Nashville as the home dog in this one.
