The Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings meet Tuesday in NHL action at the Staples Center.

The Anaheim Ducks need a win after losing seven of their last 10 games. The Anaheim Ducks are averaging 2.2 goals per game and are scoring on 11.1 percent of their power play opportunities. Max Comtois leads Anaheim with 13 goals, Rickard Rakell has 16 assists and Jakob Silfverberg has 90 shots on goal. Defensively, the Anaheim Ducks are allowing 3.1 goals per game and are killing 79.1 percent of their opponents power plays. John Gibson has given up 86 goals on 889 shots faced and Ryan Miller has given up 45 goals on 382 shots.

The Los Angeles Kings need a win after losing six of their last eight games. The Los Angeles Kings are averaging 2.7 goals per game and are scoring on 21.4 percent of their power play opportunities. Dustin Brown leads Los Angeles with 16 goals, Anze Kopitar has 34 assists and Adrian Kempe has 101 shots on goal. Defensively, the Los Angeles Kings are allowing three goals per game and are killing 84.4 percent of their opponents power plays. Jonathan Quick has given up 54 goals on 491 shots faced and Calvin Petersen has given up 64 goals on 784 shots.

The Ducks are 5-1 in their last 6 road games and 17-36 in their last 53 overall. The Kings are 1-5 in their last 6 home games and 3-9 in their last 12 overall. The under is 5-1 in Ducks last 6 overall. The over is 5-0-1 in Kings last 6 overall. The Ducks are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings. The underdog is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings. The road team is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.

I’m not running to the window to back either of these teams that have piled up the losses time and time again, but if forced to pick, I’d give the edge to the Kings because of the home ice. The Ducks have won five of the last seven meetings against the Kings, including two of the three meetings this season, but they haven’t had a ton of success in the underdog role and have struggled on the road dating back to last season. Much better options on the board, but I’d lean Kings.
