The Montreal Canadiens and Calgary Flames meet Monday in NHL action at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

The Montreal Canadiens are averaging 2.9 goals per game and are scoring on 18.9 percent of their power play opportunities. Tyler Toffoli leads Montreal with 24 goals, Jonathan Douin has 21 assists and Jeff Petry has 109 shots on goal. Defensively, the Montreal Canadiens are allowing 2.8 goals per game and are killing 77.2 percent of their opponents power plays. Carey Price has given up 65 goals on 659 shots faced and Jake Allen has given up 53 goals on 600 shots.
The Calgary Flames look for a win after winning five of their last seven games. The Calgary Flames are averaging 2.6 goals per game and are scoring on 20 percent of their power play opportunities. The Canadiens are 4-9 in their last 13 games playing on 1 days rest and 1-4 in their last 5 road games. The Flames are 1-4 in their last 5 home games and 0-4 in their last 4 Monday games. The under is 5-2-1 in Canadiens last 8 road games. The under is 9-4-3 in Flames last 16 overall. The Canadiens are 0-4 in the last 4 meetings in Calgary and 1-6 in the last 7 meetings. The underdog is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings. The home team is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings.
I've said it time and time again, but the Montreal Canadiens continue to get respect form oddsmakers and they simply don't win enough to justify it. The Calgary Flames have played the better hockey for stretches of the season, they've been the better team lately and they've won six of the eight meetings this season against the Habs. The Flames have outscored the Canadiens 9-4 in the last two matchups. I'll gladly back the Flames and the cheap price with them at home.
