The Edmonton Oilers and the Winnipeg Jets meet in game four of their best-of-seven First Round series in NHL action from Bell MTS Place on Monday night.

The Edmonton Oilers will look to stave off elimination for one more day after falling to Winnipeg 5-4 in overtime on Sunday to fall into a 3-0 hole in the series.

Leon Draisaitl opened the scoring for the Oilers 6:33 into the game and doubled the lead with his 2nd goal of the game just 2:37 later. Nikolaj Ehlers would get Winnipeg on the board with just under three minutes to go in the 2nd period but Edmonton would restore the two-goal cushion off of the stick of Zack Kassian just 1:04 later. Jujhar Khaira pushed the lead to 4-1 less than five minutes into the 3rd but Mathieu Perreault would cut into the deficit with just over eight minutes to go, making it 4-2. Blake Wheeler and Josh Morrissey would score :16 apart later in the period to tie the game at four before Ehlers completed Winnipeg’s comeback just before the midway point of the first OT period, giving the Winnipeg Jets an unthinkable 3-0 series lead.

Connor Hellebuyck got the win in goal for the Jets, stopping 44 of 48 shots faced in the winning effort while Mike Smith took the loss for Edmonton between the pipes, giving up 5 goals on 37 shots to take the defeat.

Edmonton is 7-1 in their last 8 road games and 14-4 in their last 18 games played on no rest while the under is 5-2 in their last 7 games played against a team with a winning record. Winnipeg is 5-0 in their last 5 games overall and 3-7 in their last 10 home games while the over is 12-5-2 in their last 19 games played on no rest. The over is 8-3 in the last 10 meetings between these two teams in Winnipeg.

Normally, in a must-win game, I would side with the under in a defensive battle. However, the offenses have been the story in the last couple of games and I think we could see some of the same in game four on both sides, especially on a back-to-back. In our YouTube videos, I was leaning towards the under, but I think the over is the play after Sunday’s result.
