The Vegas Golden Knights and the Colorado Avalanche meet in game five of their best of seven playoff series in NHL action from the Ball Arena on Tuesday night.

The Vegas Golden Knights will look to forge ahead in the series after evening it up at two wins apiece following their 5-1 win over Colorado in game four.

Brandon Saad opened the scoring for the Avs just 1:50 into the game but Vegas would tie the game at one just over five minutes later, giving us a 1-1 tie after 20 minutes of play. Max Pacioretty pushed Vegas’ noses in front 2-1 with a goal 1:11 into the second period and Marchessault doubled the lead and his goal tally with his second goal of the game just over ten minutes later. Marchessault completed the hat trick six minutes into the 3rd to make it a 4-1 game and Patrick Brown put the cherry on top with a 5th Golden Knights goal with just under seven minutes to play to secure the result for Vegas and to send Colorado back home for game five licking their wounds.

Marc-Andre Fleury picked up the win between the pipes for Vegas after stopping 17 of 18 shots faced in the winning effort while Philipp Grubauer ended up with the loss in goal for Colorado after giving up all 5 goals on 35 shots faced in the defeat.

Vegas is 36-16 in their last 52 games overall and 11-27 in their last 38 games as a road underdog while the under is 8-2 in their last 10 games as an underdog. Colorado is 6-1 in their last 7 playoff games as a favorite and 38-13 in their last 51 games as a home favorite while the over is 5-2 in their last 7 games overall. The under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings between these two teams.

I think that what we have in this one is going to be a prototypical game five with a 2-2 series. This is going to be a tight game where neither side wants to be the first to make a mistake and with the way these two play defense, one mistake may be all that this game sees and could decide who takes a 3-2 lead in the series as a result. Give me the under in what should be a fantastic game.
