The Nashville Predators and the Toronto Maple Leafs meet in NHL action from the Scotiabank Arena on Wednesday night.

The Nashville Predators will try to build on their four-game win streak after a 3-0 win over Ottawa last time out. Filip Forsberg has 36 points with 16 goals and 20 assists while Mikael Granlund has 25 points with his own 21 assists and Matt Duchene has 30 points with 19 assists on the year. Roman Josi has 32 points with 22 assists and Nino Niederreiter’s also chipped in 12 goals while Ryan Johansen has 9 goals as well on the year. Juuse Saros has gone 15-10-5 with a 2.67 GAA and a .921 save percentage between the pipes for Nashville while Kevin Lankinen is 4-4-1 with a 2.81 GAA and a .918 save percentage.

The Toronto Maple Leafs will look to build on a 6-2 win over Philadelphia last time out. William Nylander has 45 points with a team-high 22 goals and 23 assists while Auston Matthews has 47 points with 20 goals and 27 assists as well. Mitch Marner has 49 points with a team-high 34å assists as well on the year. Ilya Samsonov’s 12-3-1 with a 2.29 GAA and a .916 save percentage while Matt Murray is 10-4-2 with a 2.57 GAA and a .916 save percentage in goal for Toronto so far this season.

Nashville is 1-5 in their last 6 Wednesday games and 1-5 in their last 6 games after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game while the over is 7-1 in their last 8 Wednesday games. Toronto is 10-2 in their last 12 games against a team with a losing record and 0-4 in their last 4 games after scoring 5 goals or more in the previous game while the over is 5-0 in their last 5 games following a win.

I get the case to be made for either side in this game, but I’m looking at the over here. Toronto’s got one of the more potent offensive units in the entire NHL, and while Nashville’s defense has been playing well lately, they’ll be tested in a big way here. Nashville’s offense is capable of putting goals up as well in this game, and I think at the very least we have a 4-3 kind of game whichever way you have it going. Give me the over.
