In this article, we will formulate a Blackhawks vs Hockey Club Prediction for this NHL game on Friday, March 7th  at the United Center. Let’s take a look at a Chicago Blackhawks vs Utah Hockey Club pick.

Nice Win for Utah

It was a solid win on Thursday night for the Utah Hockey Club against the Detroit Red Wings. Utah fell behind, but they scored two goals in the third period, which was enough for the victory. Lawson Crouse had a solid game scoring a goal to help pace the offense. Karel Vejmelka was in goal and saved 36 of the 38 shots that he faced. They need to do a better job of limiting the number of shots the goaltending faces in this game. Two games ago against the New Jersey Devils, they lost 3-1, and they couldn’t get quality shots to find the back of the net.

Utah has had some major issues this season, but they have been better on the road. The defense for this team for most of the season has been decent, but it’s been the defense that has really let them down. The Hockey Club on the season is averaging 2.82, which is 22nd. Nick Bjugstad is still dealing with an upper-body injury, and he’s going to be out for a while longer. With Vejmelka starting on Thursday, Connor Ingram could get the start here. He sits with a 9-8-4 record and is giving up 3.37 goals per game.

Blackhawks Figuring It Out?

The Blackhawks have had an awful season, but maybe they are finally figuring it out, although it’s already too little, too late. The Blackhawks have won two games in a row. Two games ago, against the Anaheim Ducks, they won 6-3, and in the last game against the Los Angeles Kings, they won 5-1. The Blackhawks scored two goals in the second and third periods to pick up the win. Spencer Knight was in goal, and he bailed out Chicago, saving 41 of the 42 shots that he faced. The defense needs to do a better job here to limit the amount of shots on goal.

The stats for this team have been awful all over the board. The Blackhawks are averaging 2.76 goals, while their defense is giving up 3.46 goals per game. They are shooting 11.22 percent, which is the 8th best in the league, which means they need to do a better job of getting the shots on goal. Connor Bedard has scored 16 goals and added 33 assists so far this season. Spencer Knight is going to get the start on this goal, and he sits with a 13-8-1 record, giving up 2.34 goals per game.

Why the Blackhawks Will Beat Utah

  • Utah has lost each of its last five games following a road win.
  • The Blackhawks have won four of their last six games as home underdogs after coming off overtime.
  • Utah has failed to cover the puck line in seven of its last eight games following a road win.
  • The Blackhawks have covered the puck line in six of their last seven games against Western Conference opponents.
  • The Blackhawks have won the third period in each of their last four games as underdogs.

Blackhawks vs Hockey Club Prediction

The Blackhawks are way too good of a number here, and this is probably the most I have liked them all season. The Blackhawks have gotten really good goaltending from Knight heading into this game and he’s going to dominate again here. Utah is on tired legs, and their offense is going to really struggle to get the offense going again here. If the Blackhawks were favored, I wouldn’t probably bet on them, but as underdogs, I am not about to pass up the value here. Back the Blackhawks on the money line to cash. In terms of the total I do expect this game will be lower scoring, and the under will cash.
