The Chicago Blackhawks and the Buffalo Sabres meet in NHL action from the Keybank Center on Friday night.

The Chicago Blackhawks will look to build on back-to-back wins after a 4-3 shootout win over Vegas last time out. Patrick Kane leads the Blackhawks with 92 points including 26 goals and 66 assists while Seth Jones has 51 points including 46 assists and Alex DeBrincat also has 77 points with a team-high 41 goals this season. Kevin Lankinen is 8-15-6 with a 3.50 GAA and an .891 save percentage in goal for Chicago this season.

The Buffalo Sabres will try to bounce back after a 5-0 loss to the Boston Bruins in their last matchup. Tage Thompson leads the Sabres in scoring with 67 points including 37 goals while Rasmus Dahlin also has 53 points with a team-high 40 assists and Jeff Skinner has 62 points with 33 goals. Kyle Okposo also has 45 points with 21 goals and 24 apples this season. Viktor Olofsson has 49 points with 20 goals and 29 assists as well on the year. Craig Anderson has an 17-12-2 record with a 3.12 GAA and an .897 save percentage between the pipes for Buffalo this season.

Chicago is 4-12 in their last 16 games overall and 1-6 in their last 7 road games while the over is 7-3 in their last 10 games overall. Buffalo is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall and 4-2 in their last 6 home games while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 home games.

I get the case that you could make for either side in this spot, but I’m leaning towards Buffalo here. The Sabres struggled against the Bruins on Thursday, but for the most part they’ve been holding their own against better opposition as of late and beating up on lesser teams. Chicago’s picked up back-to-back wins, but consistent success hasn’t been something Chicago’s been used to, so I’ll side with Buffalo as more of a fade from Chicago if nothing else.
