Vancouver Canucks Betting Preview

The Vancouver Canucks are 5-5-0 this year after they defeated Edmonton in overtime by a score of 4-3 in their last game. Vancouver blew a 3-1 lead in the third period and they were lucky to get to overtime, but they rallied and scored 1:43 into overtime for the win. Prior to that game, Vancouver lost to the Canadiens by a score of 4-3 and the Predators by a score of 2-1. The Canucks have lost three of their last four games and they are currently fourth in the Pacific standings with 10 points. Vancouver has scored 2.80 goals per game and they have allowed 3.10 goals against per game, while also going 18.2% on the power play and 72.2% on the penalty kill this season. Conor Garland has led Vancouver with three goals and eight assists, while Elias Pettersson has added three goals and five assists. The projected starting goalie for Vancouver is Thatcher Demko, who is 4-2-0 with a 2.36 goals against average and a .922 save percentage this year.

New York Rangers Betting Preview

The New York Rangers are 3-5-2 this season after they lost to Calgary by a score of 5-1 in their last game. New York cut the deficit to 2-1 in the first period, but failed to score over the last 48 minutes for the loss. The Rangers out shot Calgary by a total of 31-30, won 55.8% of the face-offs, and went 0-1 on the power play in the game. New York got their lone goal from Laba, while Igor Shesterkin stopped 25 out of 30 shots, which was an .833 save percentage.

Canucks vs Rangers Prediction

New York continues to play very poorly to start this season, as they have lost six of their last seven games, and they have scored just one goal in three of their last five. The Rangers are 3-1-1 on the road this year, while the Canucks are 2-2-0 at home. Vancouver snapped their losing streak with a win over Edmonton on Sunday, but they have also had offensive issues this year. I really don’t trust either team in this matchup, but I am going to fade New York and side with Vancouver.
