The Vancouver Canucks will play the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday night at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. Vancouver has lost two of their last three games, while Chicago is on a six game losing streak. Let’s take a look at the betting matchup and the Canucks vs Blues prediction.

Canucks Preview

The Vancouver Canucks are 35-12-6 this season after they defeated Washington in overtime by a score of 3-2 in their last game. Vancouver trailed by a score of 2-1 in the second period, but they were able to force overtime and get the win. The Canucks were out shot by a total of 33-29 and went 0-3 on the power play in the game. Vancouver lost to Detroit by a score of 4-3 and Boston by a score of 4-0 in the two games prior to Chicago. The Canucks are scoring 3.68 goals per game and they are allowing 2.59 goals against per game, while going 24.4% on the power play and 80.1% on the penalty kill. Elias Pettersson has led Vancouver with 28 goals, 41 assists, and 140 shots on goal. The projected starting goalie for Vancouver is Thatcher Demko, who is 28-9-1 this year with a 2.45 goals against average and a .919 save percentage.

Blackhawks Preview

The Chicago Blackhawks are 14-35-3 this season after they lost to the Rangers in overtime by a score of 4-3 in their last game. Chicago trailed 3-1 in the third period, but they were able to tie the game, before losing in overtime. The Blackhawks were out shot by a total of 35-31 and went 0-2 on the power play in the game. Chicago has lost six games in a row and they have scored two goals or fewer in five of them. The Blackhawks are scoring 2.08 goals per game and they are allowing 3.50 goals against per game, while going 12.1% on the power play and 77.2% on the penalty kill. Philipp Kurashev has led Chicago with eight goals, 19 assists, and 84 shots on goal. The projected starting goalie for Chicago is Petr Mrazek, who is 12-20-2 this season with a 2.92 goals against average and a .910 save percentage.

Chicago Blackhawks Team Facts

  • The Blackhawks have lost each of their last six games.
  • The underdogs have covered the puck line in 10 of the Blackhawks’ last 11 games at United Center.
  • The favorites have won the first period in each of the Blackhawks’ last four games at United Center.
  • The ‘Over 1.5 Goals Period 1′ market has hit in 11 of the Blackhawks’ last 14 games as underdogs against Pacific Division opponents.

Vancouver Canucks Team Facts

  • The Canucks have won each of their last seven games after coming off overtime.
  • The Canucks have failed to cover the puck line in each of their last seven games as favorites following an overtime win.
  • The Canucks have won the second period in each of their last nine games at United Center.
  • The ‘Over 1.5 Goals Period 1′ market has hit in 11 of the Canucks’ last 12 games following a road win.

Canucks vs Blackhawks Betting Prediction

Chicago comes into this game on a six game losing streak and they are one of the worst teams in the NHL so far this season. The Blackhawks are only scoring 2.08 goals per game this season and they have been shutout four times in their last eight games. On the other hand, Vancouver has been one of the best teams in the NHL and they are 17-8-4 on the road. The Canucks have not played their best hockey in their last three games, but I am still going to take them to win by at least two goals. This Chicago offense is brutal and I have to fade them again here.
