In this article we will formulate a Kings vs Oilers prediction for game two NHL playoffs on Monday, April 22nd at Rogers Place.

Oilers Look to Lean On Offense

The Oilers finished the regular season with 104 points and when they found success it was the offense that they really leaned on. Even though they found plenty of success during the regular season, they did struggle a little the last couple of games. Against the Arizona Coyotes two years ago they lost 5-2 and in the last game against the Colorado Avalanche, they lost 5-1. Three games ago against the San Jose Sharks, the offense scored nine goals, and they need to get that offense back. The Oilers’ offense is ranked 4th, while the defense is ranked 8th.

Kings Offense Needs to Continue Last Game Success

The Kings finished the regular season with 99 points, and they hope they can build on the offense of the last game. It took overtime against the Blackhawks in the last game, but they were able to secure the 5-4 victory. Viktor Arvidsson scored two goals and added one assists. Cam Talbot did have some major issues in goal and saved only 9 of the 13 shots he faced. They need to continue to slow down the shots on goal, but they are going to need better goaltending.

Edmonton Oilers Team Facts

  • The Oilers have lost each of their last seven Game 1s of a playoff series.
  • The home team has covered the puck line in eight of the last nine games between the Kings and Oilers.
  • The favorites have won the first period in five of the last six games between the Kings and Oilers at Rogers Place.
  • The ‘Over 1.5 Goals Period 1′ market has hit in 15 of the Oilers’ last 16 Monday games.

Los Angeles Kings Team Facts

  • The Kings have lost each of their last four games at Rogers Place.
  • The Kings have covered the puck line in seven of their last eight games as underdogs following a home win.
  • The Kings have lost the third period in eight of their last nine games at Rogers Place following a win.
  • The ‘Over 1.5 Goals Period 2′ market has hit in 19 of the Kings’ last 20 games as underdogs against opponents on a losing streak.

Kings vs Oilers Prediction

There is going to be no shortage of scoring in this game. The Kings and Oilers are both good offensive teams, and especially the Oilers are going to have no issue running up the score here. The Oilers are going to score at least five goals here, and that still might not be enough for them to win this game. The Kings offense is going to have no issue running up the score also, and this game is going to go over the total.
