The Los Angeles Kings and the Calgary Flames meet Saturday in NHL action from the Scotiabank Saddledome. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Flames vs Kings Prediction.

Los Angeles Kings Recap

The Los Angeles Kings come into this game off of a 2-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets last time out to improve to 24-10-5 on the year. After this game, the Kings will head on the road again to take on the Edmonton Oilers.

Anze Kopitar leads the Kings with 40 points including 12 goals and 28 assists while Alex Laferriere has 26 points with 13 goals. David Rittich is 11-8 with a 2.55 GAA and an .887 save percentage while Erik Portillo has a 1.02 GAA and a .966 save percentage as well on the year.

Why the Los Angeles Kings will win

  • The Kings have won seven of their last eight games on the second leg of a back-to-back.
  • The Flames have lost each of their last six games as underdogs following a road win.
  • The Kings have covered the puck line in each of their last four night games against Western Conference opponents.
  • The Flames have failed to cover the puck line in five of their last six games as underdogs following a road win.

Calgary Flames Recap

The Calgary Flames come into this game looking to build on a 3-2 OT win over the Anaheim Ducks in their last game to improve their record to 19-14-7 on the year. After this game, the Flames will head out on the road to start a road trip with a game against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Flames Looking To Heat Up

Jonathan Huberdeau leads the Flames in scoring with 30 points including a team-high 17 goals and 13 assists while Nazem Kadri has 28 points split between 15 goals and 13 assists. MacKenzie Weegar has 22 points with a team-high 17 assists while Connor Zary has 22 points with 10 goals and 12 assists. In goal for Calgary, Dustin Wolf is 13-6-2 with a 2.60 GAA and a .914 save percentage while Dan Vladar is 6-8-5 with a 3.08 GAA and an .888 save percentage on the year.

Why the Calgary Flames will win

  • The home team has won each of the last nine games between the Kings and Flames.
  • The Kings have lost four of their last five games as road favorites against Western Conference opponents.
  • The Flames have covered the puck line in each of their last six games at Scotiabank Saddledome against opponents on a winning streak.
  • The Kings have failed to cover the puck line in each of their last six games as favorites against Pacific Division opponents.

Total Goals Facts

  • Each of the Flames’ last 10 games against Pacific Division opponents has gone UNDER the total goals line.
  • Each of the Kings’ last six games as road favorites following a road win has gone UNDER the total goals line.
  • Seven of the last eight night games between two teams from the Pacific Division have gone UNDER the total goal line.

Flames vs Kings Prediction

I’m looking at the Kings here. Historically, this has been a series dominated by the home team in the last couple of seasons, with the home team winning each of the last 9 meetings between these two teams head-to-head, which could have been in double-digits had the matchup earlier this week not been postponed. That being said, the Kings are still red hot right now, and while the Flames still have a win over the Ducks to be proud of, there could be some semblance of rust on the Flames here after a bit of a layoff and I think that the Kings, even on a back-to-back, could take advantage here. Give me the Kings in this one.
